“Yum!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

Cute little place in the Flat Iron district. Very quaint and warm with delicious food. The carrot soup was fantastic! Had we not been staying two doors away from the restaurant, we would have overlooked it for sure. The food is all organic and tasty. The service didn't particularly jump out at me as being unbelieveably incredible, but I would definitely recommend it!

“Great food, very close to the Flatiron Building”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

It would be easy to miss Greensquare Tavern, nestled down a sidestreet off 5th Avenue, but it is worth seeking out.

An extensive menu, a delicious, great value brunch, and everything locally sourced, paired with friendly and attentive service makes this a go to, when in the city.

“organic food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

first of all, we were able to park in front of the restaurant on a friday night. they offer healthy food, organic meat with no added hormones etc. they try to offer only fresh ingrediants. i had a grass fed hamburger and a spinach salad that was excellent, i didn`t care much for the multi grain roll. the beer selection was okay but the wine list didn`t have any for under $30. put some cheap bottles on the list and you will sell more.

“Pricey but worth it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

Not an extensive menu but with enough selection. We had the PEI mussels which were plump, juicy and tasty. For entree we had Blackened Pork Chops, a big piece of meat with fat on it (and that's a good thing), came with spaghetti squash and roasted Brussels sprouts which were very good. Nice ambiance with good lighting where you can actually read the menu. The service was excellent; attentive and friendly.

“One of my "go-to" restaurants in the City”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

Have eaten dinner here 3-4 times over the past 6 months (as a couple, by myself, with friends). Overall, a place I enjoy and always consider when visiting New York.

Pro's: Creative menu selections (one of the ways I judge a restaurant is whether I have a tough time deciding between several interesting offerings - Greensquare never disappoints in that category), ample portions (had a salad and entree last time - was stuffed), quality ingredients and good execution

Middle of the road: Wait times for food were neither good nor bad, ambience is a little sparse, although during the day, there is a skylight which lets in some natural light in the back area (which is also away from the bar).

Con's: As others have mentioned, noise can be a challenge - not the place for a couple's dinner, unless you come early (6pm - 6:30) - it's not bad then. It is pricey - you might consider sharing a salad or entree.

Bottom line - if food taste/creativity/quality is of primary importance, don't miss GT. If you're looking to for a nice place to take a date, I'd skip this unless you come early and can get a table in the back. Enjoy!
