Description: It was on our trip to Spain when we were introduced to the meaning of "Tapéo"; we were hopping between different Tapas bars every night; mingling and meeting different people from all walks of life; having great conversations and sharing life experiences with total strangers… All this while having great "Tapas" that always came out at the right time to compliment yet another amazing glass of red Rioja… It was then, it is now, and will always be about having fun, feeling good, and being surrounded by good… That is what captured our hearts, and these are the memories that will stay with us forever… O&R

“Very, VERY loud later in the evening, which is a shame considering the great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

I could have gone either three-star or four-star on Tapeo 29. The food and the service pulled it up to the higher rating, but I was tempted to rate this three stars for the unbelievably loud and annoying environment.

We went later on a Saturday evening, and at that time it was unclear whether Tapeo was a bar or an upscale restaurant. They had an all-night happy hour, and some patrons were drunk and screaming every word. We almost walked out because the atmosphere was so unpleasant.

We were seated next to to a table of screeching and inebriated young women, and none of us could hear a thing being said at our table. We asked to be moved, and the staff was VERY accommodating, which saved the evening.

The food was very good. Our table of six had so much that it is hard to remember it all, but everything from the cheese plate to the Salted-Cod croquettes to the Paella was all very good.

This really could be a much easier place to recommend if Tapeo 29 decided to be restaurant and not just another bar with drink specials. The food was great, but I'm not the type who wants to eat interesting and unique tapas while drunk people are screaming in my ear and bouncing off my chair. The bathroom was a mess--the one-foot-tall wastebasket was staked three feet high with soiled paper towel.

I'd definitely return earlier in the evening, but if you're looking for a good meal in a pleasant atmosphere later in the evening, I'd have to recommend avoiding Tapeo 29.

“Cozy place.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2012

Stopped in for a quick drink but ended up staying a bit and having a few more. Nestled on a cool little street, this place is very inviting, comfortable and dimly lit (which i love). It is mostly, if not entirely lit by candles. They have fantastic mojitos, sangria and other great happy hour deals. Friendly staff and the menu looked great, though we didn't eat this time. We will definitely be back soon. I think it would be great for a dinner date or even drinks with a few friends.

“Great tapas in a fun environment”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012

Simple and chic, I loved this bar - and the food was excellent. We had the tomato bread, chorizo, stuffed peppers and meatballs - deeeeeeelish!

“Brunch Heaven”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012

Great little haven from the hot weather, although a little 'neat' on space. Very informal, great brunch with plenty of Mimosa's to top-up the tank.

Definitely recommend for a fun, lively occasion.

“BEST SANGRIA of my life”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2012

I went here last weekend for a birthday party and was blown away by the Sangria (we had red). You can tell at the first sip that it was made with VERY nice wine! There is nothing cheap about Tapeo and they most certainly cut no corners! I also highly recommend Chorizo here! We had one with Cinnamon and it was delicious! Their coconut ice cream was also out of this world I have had nothing like it ever! This is great for couples or a group!
