Description: Asellina is a modern tribute to the owner of an ancient Pompeii tavern run by a “freewoman” named Asellina. The restaurant and lounge serves rustic-Italian inspired cuisine by Sardinia native, Executive Chef Marco Porceddu, and is open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks . The menu celebrates simple Italian cooking re-interpreted to compliment the sexy design aesthetic – a warm and inviting space to dine and lounge that celebrates the essential elements in building: stone, brick, metal, concrete and wood. Asellina is part of The ONE Group and is located in the Gansevoort Park Ave Hotel in the Flatiron District of New York City.

“OK, if you want to eat in the hotel.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

Just didn't like the cold ambience and mediocre food. Ok if you don't want to go far from the hotel, but there are so many other wonderful restos in NY take a short taxi drive to one of them.

“Great group lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

Great group lunch. Great service, affordable, nice selections. I loved the upscale grilled cheese and tomato soup. Be careful about the price on bottled water.

“Nice buzz in a trendy spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

Great American take on Italian food. Bruschetta, calamari and shrimp to start and then we had a pasta with ragu, pizza and steaks. Good food, lovely evening environment and extremely busy!

“Chef Marco Porceddu from Sardinia treats you for a one of a lifetime dining experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

Asellina at the Gansevoort Hotel on Park Avenue greets you with a simple, delicate e delicious menu. Marco, an experienced chef from Sardinia, has created a great menu'. There are Sardinian touches all over his menu (pane carasau - Sardinia flat bread - appears in a few of the brunch menu dishes).

Enjoy!

“Dinner was amazing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

We had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant. The fried olives were delicious, the black squid pasta was amazing, and salmon appetizer was one I can't wait to order again. Service was not perfect but not bad either....
