“Nice dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2013

May be we are just lucky, but we had a really good time here! We were seated in a booth and had those amazing tropical cocktails and a selection of starters and mains to share. The staff was very attentive and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here.

“Very disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013 via mobile

Staying just across the road so popped in for dinner on our last night in New York, as we had passed the place daily and it looked lovely. It is great inside, atmospheric lighting, booths and a buzzing vibe. Unfortunately the food and organisation were both very poor. No water offered and mains came before we had even got halfway through the starter. Ribs were ok but fries cold and tasteless. We had specifically requested steak cooked at least pink due to pregnancy (not like my wife's usual medium rare) but despite this it came out med-rare and had to be sent back, by which time I had finished my main.

Overall very poor, not cheap and given the number of restaurants available within 100 yards I's strongly suggest going elsewhere.

“Fun Drinks with Decent Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Although the menu has changed and some of the better items have disappeared, there is a casual ambiance and kitch to this place that makes it comfortable and easy. Food is okay, but the drinks are excellent and why I keep coming back.

“Casual and Elegant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2013

I was prepared to be impressed after hearing nice accolades from my son about the Hurricane Club, where he held his engagement party. It did not disappoint. We shared several appetizers, with shrimp and crab. They were wonderfully tasty and innovative in their preparation. For the main course, I had pork shoulders and my son had beef. Both were great! We had a nice Rhone (a chateauneuf du Pape, 2007) to go with our meal. Wine prices were quite reasonable. We skipped desert.

Service was prompt and pleasant. The maitre d' found us a table right away, and was all welcoming smiles. Ambiance suits the name of the restaurant, but not unpleasant. Most important, the noise level was quite controlled, so that we could talk across the table, and even i had no problem hearing my daughter-in-law.

“Bar patrons got into a fight while we were eating”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Two guys got into a screaming fist-fight inside the restaurant while we were eating. They knocked things over and one got kicked out. Meanwhile, neither our server, the hostess or the manager came over to our table to apologize for the disruption (we were sitting so close that we were worried we would get hurt).
