“Fresh Sushi in NY”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2014

Great little find. This place has a reasonable menu & prices were good. The presentation was nice but the fish was killer fresh! I could have used some more ginger & wasabi but overall I thought it was fantastic. Not a good place for kids - this is a very narrow & tight little place for adults.

“Definitely worth a couple of visits for very interesting Japanese Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

This is an amazing find and there are so many interesting sounding selections that it will take several visits to try just the selections that intrigue us. Definitely worth a stop.

The tempura is excellent and all selections were very good to excellent. They are touted as sushi cuisine restaurant. General prices run $8-15/each. Quantities are very good.

Atmosphere in the back room is a bit bare but quieter, without a window. The front section is typical Japanese restaurant in NYC.

Draft Sapporo was cold and good, but a bit skimpy. A nice selection of saki brands and types (but cold saki could be a bit colder).

Reservations are recommended.

There is a lunch menu for takeout, but no take out for dinner.

“try the sashimi of tuna and you will see that is authentic japanese.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013

One of the hidden gems in 47th street, this sushi place is the "japanese" sushi place, is all about quality and freshness. try the sashimi of tuna and you will see that is authentic japanese. Even Sakè is simply delicious, great place for small parties and small groups as it is not big at all, maximum i remember 15 tables. Delicious!

“Perfect Japaneese hide away on 47th street”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

Found this little Sushi place by accident on a wet and cold day in March - and Tsushima brought back the heat again. I was the only non-asian in this rather smal restaurant, and I take that as a good sign for quality. Got seated by the food bar as I was eating alone, but the atmosphere made it to a nice dinner. Enjoyed a warm sake and a japaneese beer - and ordered a heavenly sashmi platter. Nicely cut, fresh fish and a sensible portion for one. All served by a friendly and helpful staff. Will bring my wife next time in NY!
