“Overnight stay - house guests”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed today NEW

Stayed here 1 night while I had guests from out of town. I am a Hyatt Platinum Passport member.

Very basic hotel (the Grand Hyatt was booked). Small room (2 people can barely move); very clean; good central location; free WiFi; breakfast included (very limited breakfast choices - most of the breakfast gone by 8 AM) (also need staff to clean breakfast area quicker and replenish)

Worst part- the elevators. Slowest elevators in all of Manhattan. Clearly cannot handle the crowd.

Not bad but also not great. Ok for a few nights stay

This stay was just lovely. According to the front desk the hotel has only been open for 6 months and it shows. Everything is still in perfect condition and very clean. The outside of the hotel had me a little worried as it is very plain but that opinion changed as soon as I walked inside. The staff was so friendly and engaging. They remembered my plans for the night before and asked how things went. Very pleasant and helpful. That being said, this is a NY hotel so anyone expecting huge rooms is going to be disappointed. There is not a ton of floor space but I could easily move around without bumping into anything. There was some noise but only from the hallways. I didn't hear people in other rooms. There are only 8 rooms per floor so being away from the elevator is simply not possible. The roof top deck provides some great views and a very comfortable place to sit on a pretty day. You can see both the Empire State Building and the Chrysler building. Subway and Penn Station are both just blocks away making it easy to get around the city. My biggest issue with the hotel is location. It is in the garment district which is not one of my favorite parts of NY. Still a short walk has you in the tourist areas. I grew up in the area and prefer to walk when I am there and while it is a longer walk had no problems getting back to the hotel from the upper east side.

New hotel in mid town. Price is right, good style, and helpful staff. Not to be missed when visiting NY. We received early check in. Always appreciated, great roof top bar looking at Empire State Building

Booked for a special reunion with my family from the UK well in advance only to find out it has been double booked when we arrived at the hotel on a busy Friday night with jet lag. What was supposed to be a joyful reunion turned into a desperate scrabble to find a room. Offered a room for the first night in another hotel in Chelsea (3 star) and to re pack and return for the next 2 nights. We declined but was offered by the Hotel that the cost of our 1 st nights accomodation be paid by them. I wasted all of our weekend chasing the Hyatt to pay and spoke to numerous staff members who told us this had been settled only to find out it still has not been. Shambolic, spoilt our trip. We are still awaiting compensation nearly 2 weeks later. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Perfect location in Midtown, on West 31st Street, for exploring NY. Hotel is small (approx 120 rooms) and has 8 rooms per floor and as a result is very quiet. Rooms are well appointed, bed v. comfortable and just enough cupboard space for the two of us for our stay. Rooftop bar views of the Empire State building at night are stunning. The staff at the Hotel could not do enough for us and this made the stay extra special and Zoe's team should be commended for this. Little touches like Jo providing us with a Metrocard to simply top up without the need to purchase one - small things but which mean a lot to a traveller in the city for the first time. My thanks to Arron for introducing me to the best Granola, and the extra tub or two to see us throught he day!

All in all a wonderful stay at this small hotel - if you are after a big hotel and all that goes with it then this is not for you, however if you are looking for something quiet, central with a great team behind it then this is for you.

Room Tip: We stayed in 1205 which is rear facing.

Loved the staff and location but room noise problems were a major issue. This must be resolved before I would consider returning. The issue included cupboard and entry doors that slam loudly and an HVAC that doesn't cool the room to anywhere near the desired temperature. Would definitely return if this major problem were rectified. The location is close to restaurants, shops, and transportation.

I stayed here about a year ago and it was not memorable but there is a new GM and the difference is very noticible. It's all about the service and everyone I met had a great attitude and there is pep in their step. Great choice and near penn station. Rooms are clean and good size. Give it a try.
