This stay was just lovely. According to the front desk the hotel has only been open for 6 months and it shows. Everything is still in perfect condition and very clean. The outside of the hotel had me a little worried as it is very plain but that opinion changed as soon as I walked inside. The staff was so friendly and engaging. They remembered my plans for the night before and asked how things went. Very pleasant and helpful. That being said, this is a NY hotel so anyone expecting huge rooms is going to be disappointed. There is not a ton of floor space but I could easily move around without bumping into anything. There was some noise but only from the hallways. I didn't hear people in other rooms. There are only 8 rooms per floor so being away from the elevator is simply not possible. The roof top deck provides some great views and a very comfortable place to sit on a pretty day. You can see both the Empire State Building and the Chrysler building. Subway and Penn Station are both just blocks away making it easy to get around the city. My biggest issue with the hotel is location. It is in the garment district which is not one of my favorite parts of NY. Still a short walk has you in the tourist areas. I grew up in the area and prefer to walk when I am there and while it is a longer walk had no problems getting back to the hotel from the upper east side.
