Used Groupon to reserve a room for 3 with 2 double beds. The rooms are European sized (small) and a bit tight for 3 women. The room attendant, Ester, was outstanding. All service maids were extremely friendly. Beds are firm but not board hard. The lobby houses check in and the bar (which doubles for breakfast: District M). Appeared to be lots of larger groups of college age visitors but wasn't noisy in the rooms. Bar scene was pleasant...good entertainment (live). Drinks are expensive as 1 glass of Malbec was $15...same brand in nearby restaurant was $9.Has luggage hold area...doormen helpful flag cabs. Best part? 2 blocks from Times Square! Pretty easy walk.

Room Tip: Keep temp set at 71 degrees so as to not freeze or have too much on/off noise! Rooms have night tim...

In the heart ok the heart. Located in broadway and Hell's Kitchen, 200yards from time square. Massive choice of bars restraunts shops theatres etc. Tourist central but massive atmosphere and excitement. Hotel is basic, recently taken over its been redecorated, tidy more than professional. Rooms incredibly small, but very glitzy. If your on a longer trip and have luggage, you'll be living out your case wardrobe space is minimal. No restraunt but a bar that will do coffee and snacks. Small shop is also available. No fridges or kettle tea/coffee making facilities, ice machines on alternate floors. You don't go to ny to relax in a hotel, so it's a busy place in an xciting city where you'll be on the go if your like me and it wasn't our first time, better suited for shorter stays (week) it's excellent for somewhere to lay your head if you need a rest. Nearest subway STM is about 100 yards which allows massive access for cheaper travel.

OK, first thing you should know is that this is NOT a 4 star hotel as they advertise. My husband and I travel a lot around the world and believe me, we have a pretty good idea what a four star hotel is like and this is definitely light years away from that. This is an average, 3 star hotel at the most, which can be very frustrating as it is outrageously overpriced for what it delivers. On the other side, the location is absolutely amazing! Unless you want to be far away from everything, this is exactly where you want to be when visiting NYC, aprox 2-3 blocks away from Time Square and all the Broadway theaters, close to Central Park, 5th Ave and the Empire State Building.

PROS:
- Location, location, location
- Cleanliness is acceptable

CONS:
- Overpriced and over rated
- OMG, it is crowded! The lobby looks like a shopping mall, far from a good experience for their guests for check-in/out or just passing by
- They try to advertise a trendy and modern concept but the true is they can only accomplish that in the lobby. The apartment floors and the room itself is nothing but an average room whose identity does not follow the lobby's first impression. It feels way too old.
- Room and bathroom are very small. I didn't care that much but some people do.
-The sound proof is TERRIBLE. The walls seem to be  paper made, I could hear everything that was going on in my neighbor's room
- The Hotel Service is one of the worse I've ever experienced in my life. That is true for all interactions I had (except for the room maid). I understand the amount of people is huge but to check in with someone who doesn't even say "good morning" and doesn't even look at you when speaking is unjustifiable. Hardly felt welcomed at that hotel. It's like they couldn't care less.

I'm not sure if there are better cost vs. benefit hotels around but I would definitely look for one who has good reviews when it comes to customer experience.

The hotel is great. All the staff is friendly.

Although they don't have breakfast, the restaurant offer great options of morning foods.

The localization is very great, located just in the corner of the best theatres, and near the Times Square.

The hotel is in the hear of Manhattan.

Room Tip: Choose the rooms in the higher levels.

Truly a great location in NYC without extortionate costs! The hotel is only one block from Times Square on 8th. When you enter the hotel you are greeted with good music (although slightly loud in comparison to other hotels), bright colourful screens all with a modern feel. The rooms are very small, but clean and very functional.
Overall enjoyed the stay with no complaints.

I am currently in the hotel writing this review in my room. I simply could not wait a moment longer to write it.

As far as I'm concerned, When in NYC, you're spending very little time in your hotel room, so I wasn't too concerned about the size complaints i read prior to my visit. Let's just say size is the least of the problems here!

First the good stuff: We arrived at 1pm today (Friday) and were immediately greeted by friendly valet followed by a super friendly lobby hostess that directed me to the check-in desks. The front desk receptionist wasn't overly friendly or warm but she was professional and allowed us to check-in immediately. The lobby was impressive. Streamlined and modern with a hip vibe. I was liking what I was seeing. The elevators to the rooms are a little different. You hit a keypad in the elevator Lobby with your floor number and a specific elevator (out of 8) comes and gets you and expresses you to your floor. Pretty neat! Now the disappointment starts...

The Room
The walk from the elevator to our room had me a little nervous. There were
Walls of graffiti used as decor at the ends of each hallway. I struggled to maintain the "hip/trendy" vibe/attitude as I experienced this decorating choice...of course our room door was camouflaged in a wall of graffiti as well. Not elegant or modern at all. The room is extremely small. A small square box with Popcorn ceilings. The bed was supposed to be a queen, I doubt it's a full. It is ridiculously small and too soft, so be prepared to sink in and roll towards your bedmate...if you both fit that is. My poor husband (this is his birthday weekend-tomorrow's the big day) has his feet hanging off the end of the bed. The heater makes a god awful racket every 10 minutes when it cranks and sputters on...making it impossible for me to sleep which is why I'm up writing this review now!!! It also emits a terrible burning/smoky smell near the end of each on cycle. The shower and sink drain very, very slowly. The room has hair on the carpet and bathroom floors that do not belong to us and there is dust on many room surfaces. The TV remote doesn't work easily. You must hit a button over and over to get it to work and the power button on the remote doesn't work at all. We went to a Broadway show tonight and I found myself dreading returning to our little hostel of a hotel room. Just completely unacceptable and unlike any hotel we have ever enjoyed in NYC.

M...the restraunt.
The bartender was the only staff working at the restraunt/bar. He was friendly, but a little spaced out. The pizza is fantastic here...but they didn't have diet coke. He said the diet coke had expired so they didn't have any. Ok....strange. We ordered wine ($18/glass for house Cabernet) and tried to toast only to find the bartender had corked the wine and bits were floating inside my glass. Gross.

Noise
Typical...the hallways are super loud, though they do a great job downstairs not allowing anyone in the elevators without a room key. So I guess all the rowdy passerby a and door slamming is just typical. The windows are NOT sound proof. You get to hear the joyful sounds of nyc's pissed taxi drivers and crazy drivers in their full volume glory.

I'm not sure what will happen tomorrow....but I'm hoping NOT to spend more time than needed here in this room.

I'm most upset that my husband's birthday weekend has had this experience. We have 3 kids and haven't been away without them in almost 2 years. We looked forward to checking out this hotel and are deeply disappointed.
