i stayed in the milford plaza from 16 th to 19 th feb 2013. like many guests i emailed ahead to ask for a room with a view got a reply to say they would put a note on my reservation, when we got there we certainly got a view ...... the back of the hotel and the windows of all the other rooms on either side of us, very disappointing but didnt bother to even complain as the receptionists are not the most approachable people! three pillows on a double bed, very noisy in corridors in the early evening. rooms extremely small and the bathroom was tiny. as everyone else says the location is unbeatable, enivitably why people keep going back, as i would too. you just need to keep in mind that you are staying in an upper class hostel, there is no bar no restaurant and no where to socialise with friends before you go out, the rooms are way too small for that. i must say that it was extremely quiet at night for such a busy hotel, which was a bonus after walking for hours on end to see the sights. come out of the hotel turn right and have your breakfast in juniors, first class, we also called in for a cup of tea ,.( english tea time tea) when you are having withdrawal symptoms because everywhere else the tea is disgusting! come out the hotel go right and immediately cross the road to the marriott marquis hotel, take the elevator to floor 3 then change lifts to the 48 th floor for the view restaurant, amazing views from the revolving restaurant, better than any view from empire state or top of the rock, have the buffet, excellent prices and all you can eat!
getting back to the milford plaza, location is unbeatable, rooms are clean all you need for a SHORT stay to nyc, for longer stays the cramped conditions will end up getting to you!
