“Best guest service manager ever !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2014

I recently had a problem with my reservation at The Jewel in NYC and was accommodated by the nicest woman named Carmen Alfano.. she went out of her way to resolve the situation for me and I was blown away at how kind and compassionate she was. I would recommend staying at this hotel based on her alone.. thank you dear Carmen !

It was our honeymoon and our first trip to NYC. I'm so glad we booked this hotel! It's new, clean, modern, and, although the rooms are tiny, there was plenty of room to store our belongings. Loved the free bottled water. Loved the location. It's central to the heart of the city. We were able to walk to Times Square and Central Park.

Location is central and lots happening outside your front door. I can't recommended this hotel highly enough. Great staff, service and facilities. Close to fifth ave, Rockefeller centre and radio city. Look fwd to returning, I wouldn't stay any where else. Clean, comfortable and modern.

This property is in a great location near Rockefeller plaza and radio city music hall. The room I had was significantly large than the typical NYC hotel room and spotless. The bathroom was new, fairly large and well appointed. There was a microwave and refrigerator in the room as well. The bed was ok but a bit harder than I am use to. The climate controls were new and worked well - something you don't see often in many NYC hotels. There is a restaurant upstairs and we ate breakfast there - nothing really special. The only thing I missed is a large hotel lobby to lounge in and await your teammates in - their "lobby" is really just an extra wide hall way with cubby holes for hotel check in staff. All in all a nice experience.

We checked in early with no problems very quickly. The room is a bit narrow. There were two adults and a teenager, so we booked a superior room with pullout chair. The sleeper chair had to be turned in front of desk to allow walking space. Not much of a big deal since we just slept there. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The noise from the street was very minimal on the 11th floor(15 story hotel). Heard no noise from other rooms. The wifi was very good and free. The water dispenser was nice, we loaded up before each outing. The bathroom and shower was good sized. The elevator operation was secured by room key. We ate breakfast at the Club Quarters twice, it was very good and reasonable with a good view too. Now for the location-perfect! We could catch the subway to anywhere from multiple stations within two blocks. There were plenty of restaurants within a block. 5th ave shopping right around the corner. Broadway shows 10-20 minute walks. Great place for a couple. We checked out a suite and that would be great for two couples or family of 5. Cab ride from LGA 35 minutes with tip $50. We used limo service hotel sets up back to LGA and it was $60 cash inc tip.

Room Tip: Check if upgrade is available at check in.

Im confused as to how this hotel has such great reviews. The bedding, carpet and curtains feel very old, dusty and dirty. I don't even want to touch the comforter. The water pressure in the shower is so low i don't think ill be able to rinse the shampoo out of my hair. I see raisins on the floor of our room. The fan / ac keep shutting off which is very annoying because there is construction going on literally outside the front door if the hotel. Its 2 am and I've given up on getting any sleep tonight. DONT stay here.

Location is great since it's close to 5th Ave, Madison Ave, Rockefeller Plaza, Central Park. You can walk to any of these places in few minutes. The room has a good size, lots of outlet to charge your devices, bathroom is small but equipped. Free distiller water all the time & free wifi
