“Great Location for sightseeing and Broadway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

We chose this hotel based on Tripadvisor ratings and were not disappointed! Very comfortable and quiet room (we did not overlook the street so can't comment on those rooms). Breakfast suited us fine. The staff were very helpful. Easy walking distance to the theaters, Rockefeller Center and MOMA and a choice of subway stations. Large choice of interesting restaurants nearby.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back and side (overlooking the next door apartment block pool) are very quiet

This is the second time visiting the city but the first using the Pearl Hotel. The location of the hotel is perfect. The staff cannot do enough for you and reception always greet you like a long lost best friend - albeit not over the top.

When we go back to NYC there is only one hotel for me.

Rooms are excellent size, modern and super clean.

Only small thing is plastic plates and cutlery for the continental breakfast. If they could sort this out and possibly add in some cold meats then it would be spot on.

Otherwise flawless stay.

Not a huge amount to add from the previous reviews. We had 4 nights whilst doing a few gigs in NY and New Jersey and Long Island using the Pearl as a base. Still fantastic. On the last trip we had commented on fantastic the pillows were and we had taken the name back to the UK and tried to buy some without success. We mentioned this to the manager Georgia Skoufis ( who is fantastic ) and she offered to get us some in. We were heading up to Conneticut then Boston then coming back to leave from JFK. By the time we got back she had bought in 4 pillows for us from her suppliers and house keeping got us 4 pillow cases to suit - that's service for you. Those pillows now sit on our bed at home and are heaven!!
Thanks so much again for the awesomeness!!
We are going to Brooklyn in december for 3 nights to some gigs and would love to stay here again if we can sort the transport concerns.

This hotel is absolutely in an incredible location, right near the major Broadway shows (The Book of Mormon is across the street),near great restaurants, a three minute walk to the subway, and a five minute walk to Time Square, which is a tourist destination in itself.
The well-regarded EE Grill is right off the hotel lobby and their bar is a good post-theatre cocktail spot. An extended continental breakfast( bagels, toast, cereal, fruit, juices, pastries, coffee) and a Happy Hour are offered every day in the second floor loft lounge and are in included in the room price. Our room on the 10th floor is quite spacious and has an outdoor terrace. The staff is knowledgable about places to eat, the right subway line to take places, arranging a town car for the airport return, etc. We have traveled to NYC often and stayed in hotels twice this price but half the value as The Pearl. You will not be disappointed.

Two suggestions to management: One, the bed is comfortable but there should be more than two flat soft pillows for the bed. We asked for two more pillows and they were delivered promptly but the bed should automatically be dressed with more substantial pillows for reading and relaxing in bed. Two, women would prefer better lighting in the bathroom for hair and makeup rather than the flat screen TV on the bathroom wall.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor in the back of the hotel. Our room, 1008, was wonderful.

We'd been planning our trip to New York city as a surprise for a friend's upcoming birthday for almost six months. The day before we were to leave, we were informed by AirBnB that our host had cancelled our accommodations. So instead of last minute packing and excitement we were desperately scrambling to find a hotel with two rooms, centrally located in downtown New York.

Thankfully - we found The Pearl New York!

Not completely sure what to expect - we were excited to arrive Tuesday night to a small, boutique hotel located right across the street from the Eugene O'Neill Theatre where we held tickets for the Wednesday showing of The Book of Mormon! Yeah!

The lobby was small, but chic. The staff was absolutely lovely and accommodating. Our rooms were really nice especially after the reviews we'd read on some of the inner city hotels with rooms hardly larger than the beds! The queen bed was comfortable and we enjoyed the extra pillow. There were two televisions - one in the bedroom and one in the bath - though, who had time for tv? I appreciated the nice touches: Keurig coffee maker, Benefits shampoos and such, bathtub with an overhead and hand-held shower. The room also had full size ironing board, iron, safe and blow-dryer. I appreciated the fact that the closet had a automatic light and that we had a dresser with three large drawers as well as two night stands.

We stayed for five nights so were happy to call the Pearl, home, for the week!

The hotel offers complimentary continental breakfast on the second story loft - as well as nightly wine and cheese to start off the cocktail hour. We made use of the small, but well appointed business center to print our boarding passes for the return home.

Even with how great the hotel was physically, aesthetically its best feature probably was the location! We were just blocks from Times Square, close to theatres (we walked to all three of our shows), subway stations, Central Park, the Financial District, MoMa, so much that New York has to offer. We didn't waste precious commute time driving to and from the tourist attractions we wanted to cram into this short trip.

The Pearl New York - helped us squeeze the most out of our New York City stay. I'd highly recommend it!

Room Tip: Our room on the 14th floor faced away from the street which probably made it quieter. You are in Ne...

Although this hotel has a good location, as a mum of young kids, I was not overall happy with the hotel itself. My gripes were:
1. As a family of four, the rooms were too small
2. They don't have their own restaurant (though there is a Grill Restaurant next door)
3. After a long day sightseeing and with two young kids, I like a hotel that has decent room service. This hotel orders their room service externally. The food arrived luke warm and the delivery guy was very rude.
4. Their "continental breakfast" is very substandard, with plastic cutlery, three choices of cheap sugary cereals at best with some pastries, bananas and apples.
5. They have a gym but no pool.

The staff are friendly and helpful though :)

The hotel was very, very quiet and well located. Steps from Broadway and surrounded by the Theatre District.
Better than expected breakfast ( included). Afternoon wine and cheese was a nice touch!
Staff was friendly and helpful.
We would return to this hotel.
