“Great location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

Fantastic location, literally a block off of Times Square and the subway. Upscale, modern lobby and rooms, the service was top notch and the room was exceedingly clean. Bathroom was to die for luxurious. Valet parking was a bit steep at $55, but expensive parking is what you have to expect in NYC. The E&E Grill House restaurant is right off the lobby.

We were happily surprised to learn that a continental breakfast was included in the price of the room. Head to the 2nd floor for a light breakfast of fruit, bagels, cereal and pastries.

Room Tip: The higher the better, rooms facing the street look directly over the roof of the Eugene ONeil theat...

The hotel is just around the corner from Times Square. One Broadway play was playing across the street and Chicago was playing almost next door. We bought tickets when we got there for a reasonable price.
We had 2 rooms with queen beds for 5 adults. Bedrooms a good size and there was a small sitting area between bedroom and bathroom. Large wine cooler, microwave, couch and some cupboards included in the sitting area. Bathroom was large with nice decor and had a separate bath and shower. All furnishings and flooring in great condition and clean. All rooms including bathroom had flat screen TV's but not sure when you would watch them. Rooms were very quiet and you felt that you were staying in a small hotel which was great, Not to be forgotten the elevators were fast.
The service was excellent whether it was the front desk staff, concierge, or doorman. All were knowledgeable and helpful.
One of the things i liked the most was a self serve dispenser of fresh citrus flavored water in the lobby. I helped myself on the way in and the way out everyday.
My family planned the trip to celebrate my birthday (60). The hotel sent up a free bottle of wine.
Not having been to New YorK before I did find the room prices high. I guess the saying applies here-"you get what you pay for".
There was a bar with restaurant attached.to the hotel. We did not eat there but ordered clam chowder and biscuits for someone that stayed in one night. They both received rave reviews.
Please note - take the address of the hotel with you as taxi's from the airport were not aware of the Pearl.

Room Tip: While there we learned that there were 5 rooms with balconies. They might be worth looking into.

My family and I stayed at the Pearl Hotel this weekend. We took the "Red Eye" from Los Angeles and showed up at the hotel on a Friday morning at 7am. No rooms were available, which is understandable. However, to my surprise, we were invited to breakfast. How hospitable!! While the hotel is pricy (for our budget) but after staying there, I thought it was a good value. The room was modern, clean and very comfortable. Also a good size (for New York standards). The hotel is in the middle of the Theater District, minutes away from Time Square. On the day we checked out it was raining. They were nice enough to loan us umbrellas for the day (which of course we returned when our car service arrived at the hotel), again, very nice of them. I am not a big breakfast guy, so the breakfast was perfect for me (bagel, yogurt, pastry, Juice). Everything was fresh. This is a smaller size hotel (again, for New York standards), and despite what seemed to be full occupancy, the internet worked at very fast speed, which is not the case in most other hotels. I hope to have an opportunity to return.

I liked this hotel. But the reception is not friendly at all. I mean is it so difficult to smile?
However we got an upgrade. Instead of a superior room with one king-size bed we go a superior room with two king-size beds. I appreciated that. Unfortunately no city view as requested.
The room was nice and big. In the afternoon you had always a complimentary cheese and wine session. It was nice and the lounge was cosy. The internet in the business corner is unfortunately not free of charge you had to swipe the credit card. The Wifi however was free. But we had to print our boarding pass. The breakfast was nothing special could be better for a 4 star hotel.
They offered a shuttle service to the airport, which we used and it was comfortable, easy and not expensive at all in compare to the taxi.

We stayed in this hotel 5 times now over the last 2 years and it is the best in New York for location and size of rooms. As it's last renovation is not that far in the past the rooms are modern and fresh and have little kitchen area with proper fridge, microwave, good size flat screen TV and contemporary bathrooms. Rooms are also reasonably quiet for where it is. Try to get a room higher up. Staff at reception are alright but I have seen better. Bellmen are very nice and courteous. Of all the hotels I stayed in I would always look at the pearl first however due to pricy rooms at peak seasons the company travel policy doesn't always allow it.

When we planned a long weekend of Broadway shows, we immediately booked The Pearl. It was our second stay at the hotel. It's perfectly located for shows, dining and shopping. Christian, our concierge, was great. We plan to keep going back.

We loved this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and very clean. We loved the complimentary breakfast and the wine hour. A great retreat for such a busy city. And the location was ideal for someone who wants to be in the heart of Times Square.
