“Centrally located”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2014

Centrally located close to the metro Penn Station. Short distance to Times Square, shopping, Empire State Building. Breakfast was ok. Nice to enjoy snacks and drinks in the afternoon a few days a week for free. Clean rooms, good service from the staff.

I stayed for a week in this hotel ! I chose the hotel because it appeared to be a good business hotel handled by the Westin hotel group . Breakfast is horrible with junk food and plastic and carboard amenities (plates / glasses / knife). A so called "green hotel" that serves everything using disposable items for everything is very surprising . Service is non existent and staff is just bearly polite ! Room is not cleaned properly, I don't think they vacuumed the floor even once during my stay . Rooms are super noisy since the floors are quiet small , 10 rooms per floor and 40 floors in total and 3 lifts going up and down, lifts are very noisy and can be heard from most rooms all day and nights . It is impossible to sleep without ear plugs . I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone .

Room Tip: there are no quiet rooms since there a only 10 rooms per floor and all are nearby the 3 elevators

We had tickets to plays Friday and Saturday, so we decided to find a hotel room in manhattan. What a pleasant surprise the Element was. W. 39th st. A Starwood property, there is free wi-fi, and a decent free breakfast. Friendly staff. Small but decent rooms. Highly recommended

the breakfasts and early evening snacks were amazing. no need to go out to eat! the rooms with the kitchenettes were great. a dishwasher... wow! this hotel is central to almost everything we wanted. the beds were THE most comfortable i ever slept in. i would buy one of the mattresses if they weren't so expensive. i will stay here again with no hesitation. the only reason i didn't give it five stars was because there is no room service! my 12 year old grandson and i would have liked room service. we travel together a lot and he was very happy with this hotel - ESPECIALLY the internet connection!

Hotel is centrally located and rooms with kitchenette very nice.

Room was perfect other than the fact that there had been a previous roof leak in bathroom above, so the bathroom ceiling in our room was pretty badly damaged.

Elevators are a major problem at this property, many time we took the stairs but we were lucky since we were only on the 11th floor. Upon checkout it took us over 20 mins to get down to lobby, and stairs with all the luggage is impossible.

Also a tremendous amount of smokers out front, more so than other properties. It is pretty offensive if you are a non smoker and have to walk thru that every time you enter and leave the hotel.

Room Tip: Request a room close to the Main Floor

The hotel is very well positioned, 5 minutes walk from Time Square and 5 minutes walk from Metro Station. It is very clean and comfortable and the room we booked (King Room) has everything we needed including an equipped Kitchen.
An other good thing is that it offers free breakfast for any guest which was great for us.They even offered us breakfast in the day of arrival because we arrived at 9 am, even if normally we would have not the right to have breakfast in that day.
The staff was a little rude with us because we arrived at 9 am and they told us that they have our room free and clean but they will only check in us before 12 pm if we will pay a tax of 35 USD. I understand that they have an early check-in tax but they could check us in as long as they were having our room free and clean anyway. The second problem is their restaurant, too little for a 40 floor hotel. At the breakfast if you do not go at the beginning you risk to eat only bread with butter and jam and there are simply not enough tables for all the guests. It is funny to see all the guests serving the breakfast all-over the first floor of the hotel, in the

This hotel was really central for everything, 2 minutes from Times Square, short walks to Empire State, 5th Avenue, 42nd Street. Hotel was clean, inviting, staff at front desk where welcoming and polite, rooms where fab, clean and spacious ( double deluxe) full fitted kitchen with kettle, toaster, dishwasher and fridge freezer oh and tea, coffee, milk, sugar the lot. No problems waiting on elevators, 1-2 mins at most but usually quicker. Breakfast which was included was basic but good, usual tea, toast, fruit juice, cereals, egg and bacon muffins. Would defo return.

Room Tip: Double deluxe roomy and comfortable.
