What a little gem this hotel is! Quiet and clean, modern and affordable (by NY standards), this hotel is located in the heart of Chinatown, close to Little Italy and the Lower East Side. It was like an oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city. The neighborhood is really safe and the hotel overlooks a nice little park right across the street. It really was so peaceful there - every morning a small group of neighborhood residents gathered early for their Tai Chi exercises with gentle Chinese music playing in the background. Nearby are shops, restaurants and subway access within easy walking distance. There is garage parking at a discount for guests literally two doors down. Our room was surprisingly spacious and modern. Loved it! I only have two minor complaints: 1.Although they offer a complimentary breakfast for guests two doors down (which was very good), they only would give us two breakfast vouchers even though there were three of us in the room. Seemed strange to me that they wouldn't cover the cost of the third breakfast. On the second day, we just ended up walking a few blocks to Starbucks to get a good cup of coffee. 2.The other thing that I thought was odd was that I forgot to pack toothpaste and when I went down to the desk at 10:00 at night thinking they would have a mini-tube to give me, they had no toiletries at all. Usually a hotel will stock simple things like that for the occasional guest like me that forgets something. Even if they had a mini store where I could've purchased it at the desk, I would've been fine with that. My husband and son ended up having to take a walk a few blocks to buy some toothpaste after we had already settled in for the night...just a bit inconvenient. Aside from those two minor points, the hotel was great, the staff was friendly and I would definitely stay there again!
