“Its Chinatown”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

The entire staff of this hotel is first rate. Friendly and helpful. The lobby was nice. Our room was nicely appointed and very clean. It was quiet at night. The subway is close by. For NYC the room price was not out of line. Here is the only negative, this hotel may be technically in Tribeca but the neighborhood is Chinatown not Tribeca. You can walk to Tribeca shops and dining, but when you walk out the door of this hotel, you are in Chinatown.

Room Tip: We paid extra for a higher floor and "city view". Not a view worth paying for.

“Great stay, location and staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

I stay at this hotel frequently for business. It is a great location right on the edge of SoHo and Tribeca. Very accessible to transit. Great shops and restaurants are plentiful and Little Italy is a quick walk away as well. Staff is always friendly and helpful every time I pass through the lobby. Nice resaurant and bar on site and a little bodega is next door if you forgot anything. Not always the cheapest but if you hit it at the right time, totally worth a little extra.

“A good value for money hotel.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

Stayed here Dec 29-Jan 4 as part of honeymoon trip. The location is perfect as it is away from the noise of the big city. To get into the middle of the lights & noise is only a $10 cab or a train trip with the subway just around the corner from the hotel.

Customer service was very good in all areas. Upon check in we were provided a complimentary upgrade to a club room on the top floor of the hotel. The front of house staff were very accommodating in looking after the needs of their guests. I will put this down to the "tipping factor". We did tip when we believed we were looked after very well. In turn the service was exceptional and the front of house staff were happy to stop and say g'day to us when we went in and out.

I'm sorry, if people review rooms and say it is spacious. We had a club room and to have room for the luggage and to walk around the bed, we had to leave clothes in suitcases to get by. Hate to think what size their standard rooms are. I won't call it a negative, but just bear in mind it is just a room to sleep in and to get you out and visit the city, which we did.

Ask for an upgrade to a club room but you work out if it will be value for money. The views from the top floor were awesome early morning and late at night. You have access to the club lounge which provides complimentary coffee, light snacks and non alcoholic drinks. You will be paying for your alcoholic drinks. I'm no alcoholic, but I believe that if you are paying for club privileges, you should be provided the courtesy of a complimentary alcoholic beverage or two seeing as you are going to pay a higher room rate. Room size is also not great for a club room. I will say the complimentary in room wifi and complimentary breakfast went a long way in making our stay in New York awesome.

For a city like New York, the price we paid for our stay during maybe the busiest time of the year, we did get value for money. Would I go back and stay? Yes, based on inexpensive stay in clean room.

Room Tip: Choose a high floor if you like staying in your room for views of the city.

“Still A Great Find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

Are you an unpretentious traveler? Do you like to stay in the part of the city that is hip and near the new pulse, rather than an old heart that is solid, still ticking, but from another era? This is a great hotel. You can walk anywhere. Long hauls? The subway is around the corner. Really, a great place with excellent management. You may need to press a bit to get what you need, but the young staff is all too willing to accommodate your needs.

Room Tip: Pretty quiet hotel. High floors have sensational views.
