“Luxury christmas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2011

Decided to spend Christmas weekend at this beautiful hotel and we are quite pleased! The room we are in is plush, uniquely laid out with tons of closet space and amenities galore. After a minor little problem the staff has been bending over backwards to make sure everything is perfection. Manager Dustin was amazing and prolific with his offers to make our stay special.

Like the Aman resorts, this Adrian Zecha hotel is very relaxing with its large zen rooms. Love the suites with an outdoor terrace during the non winter months. Service is excellent! I recall bringing a dog, and they rolled out large sized food and water bowl. Very thoughtful! Love the appointments, and the food was excellent!

Room Tip: Loved the suites with outdoor terraces in non-winter months.

We just returned from a four night stay at this hotel and I must say that it was the best hotel I have stayed at in NYC. We have a family of five and the Avenue Apartment was huge with all the comforts you could want. Washer/Dryer, huge bathroom, in room coffee, sodas, water, etc. The staff are extremely helpful The hotel is beautiful, modern and clean. This is our fifth trip to NYC and this was the best!

Just got back from a one night girls trip at the Setai. Got a promotional deal on a studio suite with two of the most comfortable queen beds. The flexible check in was perfect. Checked in at 3pm and out at 6pm the following day. It enabled us to take our time, shop and get a massage, in the Ariuga hotel spa on the day of departure. Why dont other hotels do this????

We were also able to secure the house car "an awesome Mazerati" to take us to Time square for our Broadway show. Honestly, for two amatuer city travelers it made us feel pretty special. Valet and the Setai door men were warm and polite. Front desk and consierge was top notch. The hotel itself is gorgeous and chic. The Huge Macys and Lord and tailor are within blocks. I am usually one who wants to try a different hotel at each visit... but not in NYC I cannot say enough about this hotel. We absolutely loved it. For a girls shopping and pampering trip this is perfect. My girlfriend and I plan on making the setai a definate tradition. When we go back we will absolutely stay at the Setai!!

I stayed here in an Avenue Apartment. Lovely. Full kitchen, corner view in living room, big bedroom with walk-in closet replete with washer-dryer, large bathroom, separate half-bath for guests. Wifi, all drinks, 5 articles of pressing daily all included. The staff is highly-trained, remembered my name every time I passed, but were not in my face. Nice spa.

I highly recommend this property. Highly.

My colleague coaxed me into staying at the Setai, when I personally wanted to stay at the peninsula.

My trip was split into two parts, first that lasted a good 7 hours, the second over 3 days.

They upgraded me to the superior room on the first time, which was kinda useless, given i had no time to spend except sleep. During my second stay, the room was rubbish, with no Ironing board, lack of drinking water, and cupboard space.

When I asked the concierge to send those things, it took them over an hour to respond.

The property is great, location wise and the staff courteous. But somehow the place lacks that extra drive, which makes me think next time i am in Manhattan, I will try something different.

Room Tip: Higher floors means lower noise and better view.
