I went to Open Door on a very chilly Sunday evening. Hardly any diners, a few people at the bar. Went, 1) because it had reasonable reviews and 2) it was near my hotel.
The hostess/waitress started quite efficiently, offering me a booth, but it went downhill from there.
She seemed to lose interest when I did not want anything to drink other than water (on a doctor ordered no booze regime). I ordered crab cake from the starters menu and an Asian style prawn and beef dish as main. She seemed surprised I wanted them to come separately.
The crab cake had far too much sauce - on the top - so there was no chance to remove it. Otherwise ok.
The Asian style prawn and beef had a small salad, also smothered in a dressing (not offered a choice - I prefer plain), the beef was quite tough and they must have had a big order of soy sauce and were trying to use it up as it was drowned in it. She asked if everything was ok, and did not even offer a "sorry" when I mentioned the excess of soy. I drank lots of water!!
She did not serve any food - that was left to what I supposed was one of the kitchen staff.
Next time I am very cold I will wrap up more, walk past and go to Seaport
Lucky to get a "poor" rating
