I am an amateur photographer but I've read many books on the subject and am very comfortable with using my DSLR. Going out and getting great shots is another story, and Zim is phenomenal at explaining compositional goals, relating to you with her own stories and experiences, and then inspiring you to push yourself to improve. Unlike other classes "in the field" that I've taken where you wander around aimlessly, Photo Safari is divided into multiple slices, each focused on honing your skills on a specific subject area. Really a fun and challenging workshop for any photographer lover out there!

Thanks for the feedback, when we started NYC Photo Safari we wanted the participants to get more than a casual postcard tour where we just point out the lovely sites and suggest that you take a photo. We consider our safaris photography workshops that use Manhattan as a classroom. We want to help you find that perfect photograph yourself; so no matter where you are in the world you will be able to take the perfect photo. This is why all of us instructors are professional working photographers not tour guides; we all have degrees in photography. We are not just passionate hobbyists; photography is our profession!
I'm glad I was able to challenge you and hopefully helped you move your photography to the next level. I'm pretty sure I gave you my email address, please feel free to use it (if you lost it please call the office).
