“The Best Meal, Ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013 via mobile

This has been a season of fine dining for us, capped off by a truly amazing meal at Colicchio's. We visited to celebrate my wife's birthday, and other than the fact they initially tried to give us a very poor table right by a walkway we had a fabulous experience. We simply asked "can we have that table?" Pointing to a window table, and they gave it to us.

Our menu was nicely personalized with my wife's name and the wait staff made us feel very welcome and comfortable. After checking out the menu we decided to go "all-in" and selected the 7 course tasting menu with wine pairings. Undoubtedly the most expensive meal we have ever ordered, but also the best..

Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the food served, and did a super job of detailing each course, coupled with an excellent kitchen presentation. They even traded out some scallops (not my favorite) for another option.

In addition to the 7 courses, we were also treated to random chefs samples and amuse bouches. It was a top-class three-and-a-quarter hour culinary experience.

Highly highly recommended.

“Amazing meal and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013

Went for my birthday and it was the best experience. We had the chef seasonal tasting menu and every dish was incredible. The flavors were inspiring and the service impeccable. It was the perfect place for a wonderful birthday celebration!

“Expecting more than we got”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013

We chose this restaurant based on the rave revues on Trip Advisor.

The restaurant was OK but not great; the food was pretentious and a bit "emperor's new clothes". This style of menu and dining is now a little old fashioned.

It was highly professional with loads of staff who were attentive. They try to make it a good experience.

We had a long wait for our meal once ordered, probably due to it being cooked from as near scratch as you will get.

The presentation and "packaging" of the experience is why they charge high prices.

Anyway maybe we just were not in the mood for this or our expectations were so high that we were destined to be disappointed.

“Once again Simply the Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013

This is our third visit to this superb restaurant and just when you think it can't get any better it goes another step further.

On this trip my wife and I opted for the 7 coarse tasting with every offering better than the one before. Service was unwaivering and everyone was extremely pleasant.

If you find yourself in NYC and enjoy a great meal do not miss Colicchio and Sons.

“Anniversary dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013

We had visited Colicchio's on the 2nd November for our anniversary dinner.
The ambience and atmosphere in the restaurant was brilliant, the staff was very attentive, friendly and professional.
The service was excellent and the food was delicious! The pasta and risotto dishes are to die for!
There is also a nice selection of wines and other beverages to choose from.
As it was our anniversary on this day, we have also received a personalised menu, anniversary wish card from the restaurant's staff and a complimentary happy anniversary cake which was definitely a nice touch!
We would definitely love to return as it was one of the best restaurants we've ever been to and a great experience whilst in New York!
Definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone, you won't be disappointed!
