Owner description: The National September 11 Memorial & Museum is a place of remembrance honoring those who perished in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993. The 9/11 Memorial consists of two massive pools set within the original footprints of the Twin Towers with 30-foot waterfalls cascading down their sides. The nearly 3,000 names of the men, women, and children killed in the attacks are inscribed into bronze parapets surrounding the twin Memorial pools. This national tribute, located at the heart of the World Trade Center, also gives visitors the unique opportunity to witness the rebuilding taking place around them-including the construction of 1 World Trade Center, which is the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. “Magnificent Memorial”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

This memorial is absolutely stunning. Every detail - from the stone to the fountains to the trees - demonstrates how much thought and planning went into the design. It will make both citizens and foreigners weep so bring a few tissues...

“Overwhelming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

The memorials are so large and have so many names, it's overwhelming to think about. So sad. The fountains are beautiful, but it's the names lining them that make you think about all the people who died that day. A beautiful tribute.

“So glad I went to see this”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

The 9/11 memorial is beautiful, thought provoking and emotional. I was 33 when 9/11 happened and I remember how horrible that day was. I have avoided anything 9/11 related because I did not want to relive those feelings again. This was the first time that I went to any memorial of 9/11 and I am glad I did. Yes, there are tears to be shed, but it is a beautiful memorial which is appropriately done. We were only on the outside. I would strongly recommend this as a place to visit.

“Well Done”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

This memorial to the events of 9/11 is so well done. The building is beautiful and the artifacts are tastefully displayed without withholding the emotional value of each piece. The memorial was supposed to close at 8:30 the evening we visited, but a sizable crowd was still exploring the museum well past 9:00, the staff was very gracious about that.

“Moving Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

We only had time to drop by to see the 9/11 Memorial - unfortunately could not wait for tickets to the museum. However we all thought the fountains were a great tribute and well done.
