“A fantastic experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

We were on the 6th floor and had a view of the Freedom Tower and 9/11 memorial. The windows open up fully and we could let the air in. The interior design of the halls and room layouts were fantastic. They were more like suites (at least from the hall view). I can't explain it in words, but you'll know what I mean when you stay there. There's filtered water on each floor with plastic bottles that you can fill, seal and take with you, which is awesome. I didn't get a chance to check out the roof, but I wish I had. The staff were very kind and helpful - though we dealt mostly with Rich, who was exceptional and beyond pleasant. Very close to financial district and Battery Park. I definitely plan to stay there again.

Room Tip: ask for a view of the Freedom Tower! It's unobstructed and very nice to wake up to.

Excellent location, suites are very spacious and clean. The staffs was very professional and friendly. Loved the water machines on each floor, free washing, free soda & snack bar Monday through Thursday….. And the roof top restaurant had really good food with nice size portions. A++

Wanted a hotel that was close to downtown, and chose to return to this one for a two night stay. Rooms are modern, very clean, and a good value for the exceptional location. Views of the World Trade Center Memorial are fabulous. What makes it even better is the hotel staff!! No matter how early or how late, the staff was extremely knowledgable, friendly, and helpful. They answered any questions, and gave good recommendations. Also, on this same trip, we were having difficulty locating an address in midtown, and stopped into the Club Quarters there, where we received the same pleasant assistance to help us find our address. I would definately recommend either of the Club Quarters locations with the superb customer service!

My visit was mainly for business but included a weekend lesiure stay. Position for the business element was perfect as in the financial district, quite a trot from mid-town but I did walk it once and subway links are good. It is also very close to Century 21 for shopping fans. Unfortunately at the moment there are lots of works being done nearby - this was not a problem for noise but made crossing streets etc quite tricky with lots of ppl at busy times to see Ground Zero.

I really liked the hotel itself - it is not one with a fancy design element, but has great little perks like free bottled water, free wifi in the rooms, tea and coffee with snacks and very clean. I booked a suite (would recommend paying the extra) which was very big for NY sizes and had a little kitchette in, plus floor to ceiling windows. Also coffee machine in the room. Only slight point about the room was that we used the aircon as it was warm in NY during our stay and it made a noise that reminded me of being of a ferry! (but didnt keep me awake).

All in all, I found the hotel great value and would return. I would say its for a functional trip rather than a really fancy romantic weekend away, also for people who don't mind staying in the financial district and hopping in a cab to go to midtown or uptown.

Room Tip: Go for a suite!

Ok the hotel is exceptional...absolutely NOTHING wrong with it whatsoever..from the free wifi, coffee, make your own bottled water, the beds were comdy, A LOT of tv channels, hot water...the list goes on. The hotel is exceptional, no bones about it. My problem is with the city and MTA.

Because every evening right now and the whole weekend the 1 line and R line trains at the stations closest to the hotel are down. So you have to take the 4 train which is 3 blocks away versus one or two, and at night the entire area is a ghost town, during the day because of the memorial its a mad house. Taxis didn't really know how to get to it because of all of the street closures from construction (tell them to take Albany).

But otherwise the hotel was exceptional in every way possible.

Room Tip: Not really a bad room in the hotel

I think there are few exceptional value hotels around, but this is one of them. purchased as an option on lastminute, I upgraded to a suite for a recent 4 night stay, and overlooked Ground Zero.

The 9th floor was remarkably quiet despite the building works during hte day, but what makes the hotel special is the staff and the extras, like free wifi, breakfast, coffee point and laundry, etc, that you would normally be charged the earth for. The bed was comfortable and even though the suite was on the small side, the sitting room was clean and well laid out with an additional TV in the bed area. The 20th floor restaurant had a really impressive view of downtown looking north.

Staff are incredibly helpful, both at 1.00 pm for an early check in in the rain, and at 5 am for an early flight on exit. That alone is enough to return. But bear in mind there is a little over a 5 minute walk to the subway, with direct access to JFK (not much longer than getting to Heathrow on the tube) for $7 each way and this hotel takes on even better value.

Can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Go high (this is a busy part of downtown). Lifts are not great, but no hotel in NY has good lifts f...
