“Beautiful room - if I could move in tomorrow I would”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2010

From the moment we pulled up in the taxi the service was great - bags taken care of with a smile, check-in, taken up to the room. Everyone we encountered was helpful and friendly.

The room (junior suite) was really beautiful - spacious, bright & filled with natural light due to the fantastic floor-to-ceiling window. The colours and decor felt like a bedroom, not an anonymous hotel room, and little gifts like a Miller Harris candle and pretty cupcakes made you feel like you were a valued guest, not just a number. I wouldn't have minded a bath as well as the shower but that's the only criticism.

Don't assume the taxi driver from the airport will know the hotel.

We didn't use the concierge so couldn't comment, and didn't eat in the restaurant, but did have drinks in the bar, which was buzzy and had a nice vibe. The service there was a bit... erratic, but fine as long as you weren't in a hurry. My room service breakfast was tasty and had huge portions!

This area has so many shops packed in - mainly international mid- to high-end brands, but is a short stroll from the Lower East Side for more independents, and Broadway has a lot of high-street chains. It's also a comfortable walk back from eating at one of Greenwich Village's restaurants, and just near a subway station that'll take you uptown, so it couldn't have been more convenient.

Not cheap, but if you've got the budget for it I'd happily recommend staying here. I hope to go back some time.

We stayed for two nights & we really liked the Crosby - our room was large, light filled & beautifully decorated with just the right amount of colour & liveliness. The chairs were comfortable & the bed was divine.

The shower room is sleek & stylish as well as practical.

House keeping was great.

The airconditioning was perfect - thank heavens as it was unseasonably hot.

& unusually for NYC hotels & it's location the Crosby was a quiet hotel.

The food in the restaurant was good.

Most staff were friendly & helpful although my two gripes are that staff on the front desk were surprisingly low key & that there was an absence of staff presence outside the hotel which meant getting out of taxis with luggage & getting a taxi to go anywhere was a chore you had to do generally unaided.

But this is a very good hotel - in my view it's better than the Mercer.

This is one of the loveliest hotels I've had the pleasure of staying in. The decor is so inviting, warm, and cool all at once. Bravo on that. Location laughably good. Turn left and you're at Balthazar, turn right and you're dining at Savoy. All the shopping and excitement of Soho at your feet. The hotel had some minor snafus on the room service front - not just once but twice - and there was confusion about the Sunday screening room procedure and pricing, but overall I had no major quibbles. Hard to imagine doing better in New York unless you really don't enjoy being in the "scene." I found it a nice follow-up to my quiet, wonderful Plaza Athenee stay on the UESide. Great to experience both. I'll definitely return to Crosby and try their London properties as well.

Given this hotel is part of the Firmdale group I had very high expectations and it didn't fail me at all.

The design style is, as expected, very similar to the London hotels and translates very well to New York. The room was a very decent size and the floor to ceiling windows allowed wonderful views and flooded the room with light.

The bar was very busy with a great atmopshere but doesn't encroach in to the hotel or disturb guests.

The real high point however was the amazing level of service. From the moment we arrived and throughout our stay all the staff but superb and I couldn't have asked for more.

We have stayed in numerous good Hotels on all Continents. Crosby Street is the best. It has all the characteristics of a wonderful home created by the look and 'feel' of the Interiors and the warmth and engagement of the Staff. It's a Firmdale Hotel. They have a 'culture' and this hotel is exemplary. Ashley Muir

Loved it! The price seems to be climbing but I still think it's well worth the stay. After trying a couple of the competitors I would heartedly encourage visitors to choose Crosby. It definately has that continental service and charm that the trendy (LES, Gansevoort, Smyth) sorely lack.

We recently had the experience of a life time when we celebrated our wedding anniversary in New York. Prior to our arrival at the Crosby Street Hotel, the Concierge were generous with their local knowledge and assisted us with restaurant suggestions and bookings, which were all wonderful.

We were warmly welcomed on check-in after a very very long flight from Australia and were taken to our sumptuous suite! Breath taking was our initial reaction to our superb room and it was how we continued to feel during our week long stay. From the stylish toiletries to the exquisite linen to the fabulous art work, it was all perfect.

It never ceased to amaze my husband and I that we kept discovering new pieces of artwork and sculpture every day and all so expertly chosen for the wow factor! Kit Kemp has a very unique style and has not spared a dime on decorating this hotel with her fabulous signature combining colour, quality and design.

We made friends with fellow guests in the gorgeous guest lounge which offers succulent daily treats under the dome of decadence and an honesty bar. It has a cozy opulence and makes you feel like you are inviting other guests into your own home - I wish!!!

We want to thank the Management team and staff of the Crosby Street Hotel for making our stay in Soho so memorable and congratulate them on their top level of service, professional attitude and first class hotel.
