I recently booked two Rickshaw tours for myself & family friends. Having lived in NYC , I was very skeptical about taking a tour. However, Teodor from CPT called us a day in advance to confirm our reservations and gave clear instructions on where to meet to begin our tour. Teodor and George were our guides and they were both very polite, professional and informative. They were also flexible about stopping places so that my guests could take pictures and walk through various parts of the park, while other tours are not. I was prepared for a very perfunctory experience but was pleasantly surprised by how personable, witty and well-versed our guides were. I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting NYC and for those who think they have seen it all!

Anytime I go visit NYC from Boston, I always make a point of visiting Central Park. I love the sights and sounds as well as the taste of nature in an otherwise concrete jungle. While I usually like to walk, I thought I would give one of the "rickshaw" tours a shot since my feet were aching. Fortunately, I ended up picking a great tour guide to pedal me around the park for an hour or so. He (Teo?) was extremely personable and entertaining. The short time we spent together was filled with lots of fun facts about Central Park and other things to do/see in NYC. If you ever have the opportunity, then I highly recommend you check out Central Park Tours!

Our guide, Martin was friendly and informative. We were too tired to walk and didn't have much time so this was a great way to see some of it. Very fun!

We booked a two hour bike tour with http://www.centralparktours.net/ and it was a great way to see the park. Although my husband had been to NYC on business several times, he'd never had time to really see the park and this was the first trip for the kids (14 & 15) and I to NYC.

Teodor took us on our tour and he was great. He showed us all the major attractions, sights where various movies were shot etc and some little out of the way places as well - where there weren't any other tour guides! He'd been doing tours in the park for more than 4 years so was quite knowledgeable. We actually had one "guide" come up and ask us if the building we were looking at (Dakota) was where Lennon was shot.......so I can imagine there are all sorts of supposed bike tours and "guides" operating in the park.

Central Park Tours have various types of tours (rickshaw, bike, walking, Horse & carriage etc) and you can also rent bikes from these guys as well but for anyone with teenagers, I would recommend the bike tour - it was excellent.

You make several stops along the way and it's not a hard ride at all - so you don't need to be really fit to do it.
