We stayed here for 3 nights and it was a really great base in the city whilst being away from the noise/craziness of downtown. It takes around 15 minutes on the express route (change at 125 street) to Times Square area so whilst it may feel a long way up Manhattan, in reality it isn't. I have stayed in a few different places on the island before (both downtown and further north) and this was definitely my favourite. We'd recommend Rick to anyone who was coming to NYC and didn't want to spend a fortune in a hotel as this was much better value.
Rick was a great host who made us feel very welcome in his home and was always interested in what we had been doing that day, which was nice. The breakfasts were a fruit platter with pastries and tea/coffee. Our room was on the top floor and very large, with an en suite and tv. It had beautiful decorations/furnishing and a very comfy bed.
