“Cool fitout - very welcoming reception service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. Overall handy location to attractions and the subway. Although clearly boasting a quality fitout, our room felt cramp and tiny, beds are very comfortable with great pillows, however the linen, although good quality, really didn't fit the beds AT ALL. Prepare to be woken up by bed sheets that need to be adjusted because they don't fit the actual beds.

So so breakfast.

We were able to connect our laptop to the TV via HDMI which was another plus (I wish more hotels allowed it)

One big plus of this hotel was the reception service. Every time we walked in or out we were greeted with a hello or a goodbye and a smile. It's the little things that count.

We would recommend to first timers in NYC due to close proximity to main attractions (all walking distance.) however this was our second trip to NYC and should we return again we will likely stay around the SOHO/Greenwich area to avoid alot of the tourist crowds.

Thank you very much for your review of Distrikt. We were a bit shocked that the linen was ill-fitting, but assure you that this must have been an anomaly as we don't ever receive this particular critique. Though you prefer a different part of Manhattan, I do hope you will allow us to welcome you back and to show you that the bedding mistake and the breakfast experience was an exception vs. rule.

“Start Spreadin' The News!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

What can I say but - Thank you Distrikt Hotel for being our home away from home for 5 nights!
Fabulous little boutique hotel in the craziness that is NYC!!

It was so nice to come back to our little haven and sip on the complimentary hot spiced apple drink and be welcomed to THE friendliest staff ANYWHERE in the world!! Each and every one of them were marvelous - always greeting us and ready to help with anything.....this is what truly makes a stay at the Distrikt so amazing....they are all very well informed with all things New York - and when you're a first time new yorker, there are a million things you want to ask and the staff were always happy to advise us with their expertise.! Thanks Guys, much appreciated!

Must also say that the hotel itself is cute and cosy - we stayed in one of the bigger rooms on the high floor and it was very clean and comfortable.. A+++. Breakfast in the restaurant was also very good.

If we ever come back to the Big Apple, we have no hesitation in booking the Distrikt Hotel again for our stay - we absolutely loved it and you will too.

“This Hotel is simply excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

It's not often that you get to stay in a top 5 (tripadvisor) hotel without it costing the earth, especially in NYC. The Distrikt is first and foremost exceptional value when you consider that the rooms, we had one on the 28th floor (room 03) and the view of the Empire state was excellent, are very well appointed and fairly spacious (bathrooms are very nice). In addition the staff are all really friendly (and genuinely so). Often it's the case that the staff in a hotel come across as insincere but every one of them, including the bellhops, were genuinely interested in helping you out, and with a smile. They even got a load of mini chocolate muffins in for guests for St Paddy's day. The breakfast isn't bad either for the money. Final tick in the box is the location which is brilliant, very central for all the sights. For food/drinks, check out the Beer Authority which is 2 mins walk back towards 8th avenue for great beer (and variety-belgium etc) and food-Paddys day was excellent, and also the Heartlands Brewery which has an "outlet" (as there are a few around town) right next to the entrance of the Port Authority Bus Terminal, which also of course is where you end up if you chose to take the subway option from JFK. We did and it wasn't half as scary as we thought it would be plus, both ways it saved us a total of about £100 in cab fares. All in all a brilliant hotel, with excellent staff and a fabulous location. Would absolutely recommend that you book.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor room

“Love it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013 via mobile

I surprised my partner with a trip to NYC and chose the Distrikt because of these reviews. It did not disappoint. I emailed the hotel in advance to ask for champagne in the room when we arrived, they went to the trouble of hand writing a message sent from me with the champagne and a few other surprises, courtesy of the hotel, arrived as we were unpacking! The rooms are modern and larger than I expected, having stayed in London hotels several times I expected to be in the usual big city box room. It's location is amazing, Hell's Kitchen one way, Times Square the other, 5 minutes from Central Park. All in all this hotel is spot on, they treated us like royalty from the moment we stepped through the door. I will definitely be booking here for our next stay in the city.

“Amazing Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

I truly loved pretty much everything about this hotel. The room was modern and extremely clean. The bathroom was amazing. Although it was small it was very modern and clean. The service was impeccable. The bartender at the restaurant was truly great and you felt special from the moment I stepped in the door. They had a car waiting for me to take me to the airport and if was only like $10 more than trying to hail a taxi. 5 star treatment and service from start to finish!
