“Not central but worth it IMO”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

I choose this hotel repeatedly as a fairly regular visitor to NYC. It's NOT a tourist hotel off TImes Square- it's on Wall Street, so wise up here- you will be out of the busy central area.

On the other hand, precisely because this is in the business area, weekends rates are extremely good value and a minor tradeoff for a great hotel with really terrific attention to detail. I don't usually come back over and over to one hotel but here I do. I seem to be willing to return for the free sodas and Lay's in the rooms- they do make me feel fond of the place.

It's quiet on Saturdays in the area although things are hopping on Friday still.

Bed is comfortable and there are complicated but useful light controls throughout the room. Receptionists seem uniformly pleasant, helpful, friendly and eager to assist. Why can't every hotel have front desk help like this?

Upgrades to bigger rooms are inexpensive and the rooms are clean and modern.

In short if an extra 10 minutes on the subway don't bother you then this is a great hotel for a weekend visit at a reasonable price- at least this last weekend ( I have to say that I have paid 3 times this rate on a weekend near Xmas on a business trip.

Stayed for 5 nights earlier this year, superb in every way, good location, nice to have free mini bar snacks and good nespresso coffee. We were here on a reward stay and upgraded to a suite, very nice and spacious, amazing walk in shower and bath tub :)
Would recommend and will certainly return

Stayed on business for 4 nights and was impressed. The hotel is ideally situated near the ferry terminals and subway.

Rooms were comfortable and spacious, with the bathrooms feeling plush. Massive TV and ultra cool lighting switchboard, aswell as automatic window blinds. The free mini bar for snacks and soft drinks was a really nice touch and very welcomed.

Breakfast every morning at the W&W was superb - the waiters really friendly and the food great.

Service was in general excellent - a number of the front-of-house staff were very welcoming and friendly. Check-in and check-out very efficient, with staff using iPads to make the process very smooth. I did get corrected by one of the staff when I used a UK-English word, but I'm willing to let it slide...!

In summary - modern, clean and friendly hotel to stay on business. Would I stay with the wife on a leisure trip? I'd probably go further into town for something more classic.

On January19th, when we arrived at Andaz Wall Street, we were greeted as friends. Jessica welcomed us with her fabulous smile, took our information, and told us our upgraded room would be ready momentarily. (We arrived early before check in.) Kyle, a young man who we have met many times, welcomed us by name and asked how our children were doing! He took care of our luggage while we parked our car (we had a groupon coupon). When we returned, everything was ready for us. He escorted us to our beautiful suite and helped us settle in. This was a special weekend for us; it was our 43rd wedding anniversary.
The Andaz Wall Street is our favorite home away from home. Every special occasion is spent here! Our children live in New York City. When we visit them, we always stay with at the Andaz Wall Street! Mike and I are public school teachers and at peak times we cannot always afford to stay here, our favorite place. Since our children are NYU graduates, and have made NYC their home, we have been coming to NYC for many years. At times we have had to choose other hotels, but none compare to the Andaz Wall Street.
My husband and I are coffee people. This room did not have a coffee maker, and because of the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy the lobby coffee, snack, wine bar was being renovated. We understood completely! When we requested a coffee maker for our room, we were provided one immediately. Maria brought the coffee maker, coffee, ice, and extra snacks. (I wish I had asked for her last name; she was wonderful!)
Our suite was beautiful! We had another wonderful anniversary thanks to the Andaz Wall Street. There is nothing the Andaz could have done to make our fantastic stay better! Well, unless they could have made the New England Patriots win their playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens. Obviously, that was out of all of our hands!
The staff is the best! I don't know how they have managed to select the best of the best! They have surrounded themselves with efficient, caring, knowledgeable, friendly, fun people.
Thanks to the Andaz Wall Street for another great memory!
Mike and Jane Cappiello
We love this area! While taking our walks, we noticed that many businesses including hotels have not yet recovered from the effects of Hurricane Sandy. We are confident that our favorite area of NYC will return to its former glory!

Room Tip: We stayed in 1125. A great suite. No noise.

we stayed here 3rd-8th january, our first stay in NY. we wanted a trouble-free, quiet spot to sleep after a busy sight-seeing day and this hotel was perfect for that. the rooms were very good, ample size with two double beds, nice bathrooms, big tv, everything you need.very modern. there's a free minibar for non-alcoholic drinks and snacks. no coffee making facility though there's free coffee in hotel lounge. we didn't use the restaurant, not sure if there is one, we were given no information on breakfasts and cost. the gym and spa in the basement are still closed because of storm sandy. we asked for a room with a view but were put at the back of the hotel. not a bad view, but i think the hotel is surrounded by other tall buildings so great views maybe not possible. we were on the 14th floor and were not disturbed by any outside noise. i would definitely come here again.

New York is a wonderful city and is certainly worth a visit. However the Andaz Wall Street has no soul. The rooms are modern and the bathroom avant garde There is a "free" mini bar but that only includes soft drinks and a rather poor assortment of snacks. If you wanted a G&T then it would cost you £25 for the quarter bottle. There was no tea / coffee facility in the room and if you wanted a cup you had to go down stairs where you were charged for it.
We used the tonic in the room and asked for ice and more tonic and charged $10 room service plus the cost of more tonic. DO NOT use the room phone to call home as you will need a mortgage to pay for it We had 3 mins to the UK and were charged $46 and another $30 for a missed call. After complaining the latter was removed from the bill
We wanted a meal in the hotel after a long day sightseeing and arrived at 6.30 and were advised the only restaurant was closed because of Thanksgiving. Come on a large major hotel in the middle of NY closed to resident guests who want ameal after half past six at night VERY POOR..
We were offered room service but were expected to pay the premium for the privelige.

The Andaz is out of the way and needs a 15mins underground journey into Times Square, there were a few bars around but because of Hurricane Sandy the majority were closed.
Would I stay there again a definate NO.This hotel is for the business man who can put the expenses on the company account it is not for the tourist

Husband took me here for a fancy getaway and I wished we'd gone to a Holiday Inn. Fancy interior...beautiful upscale lobby, nice elevators. The rooms are very modern. The problem was the room was freezing. I called the front desk and they quickly sent someone upstairs. The A/C repair person said that the room would get very warm but it never did. I was exhausted so I decided to just get under the covers and get comfortable. The bed was a weird type of foam or something that almost had me in tears by the morning. I would never, ever stay here again. Yes, there was a free mini-bar (emphasis on mini: 1 bag of chips, a few snack bars and some water). I have to say that the tub was the one highlight of the night. When I closed the bathroom door I was about to warm the bathroom enough to have a nice bath. Nice deep jacuzzi-type tub.

Room Tip: Ask to be upgraded to a King Room. Make sure the A/C works.
