I've stayed at some very upscale hotels in New York. Bigger names and prices don't always equate to better experiences. As far as I'm concerned, the Staybridge is TERRIFIC. We were greeted with smiles and a warm welcome. Brian, Sasha and Jaime were upbeat and I knew at that point we were in the right place for our short visit to NYC. After a long day of travel we were beat. Brian recommended a great restaurant for dinner that was close by and exceeded our expectations. He was spot on and we can't wait to go back for a return visit. We were traveling with another couple who are frequent travelers who were also impressed with the customer service and the rooms. I have been in the service industry for many years and I can't say enough about your front desk/lobby staff. They called us by name each time we arrived and departed and could not have made us feel any more valued as guests.
Our guest room was well appointed and roomy enough to suit our needs. We were on the the 28th floor with a view of the city and the window actually opened enough to let some fresh air in at night. The bed was comfortable and although we didn't need the kitchinette, it was nice to have the option. My only comment was the carpet which needed replacement. It was worn by traffic, but at the same time, it was spotless and very clean.
The location worked well as we were within walking distance to Times Square and the Grayline tour stop. We parked our car in the garage right next door and the charge was quite reasonable considering what other hotel parking costs in the city.
Will we stay there again...you bet we will! We are already planning another trip in the spring.
