“Great place to stay in Central New York area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We stayed in this hotel for four nights as a start to our month-long pan-USA tour in August 2012. The hotel provided us a room for two adults and two children below 12 years that was very convenient. It was easy to access Times Square that was a few blocks away and doing stuff like laundry outside the hotel, if you wish, was also possible through the nearby stores for grocery and laundromat.

I stayed in this hotel in February (and only getting around to writing a review now :-/) I cannot fault this hotel in any way.

We arrived around an hour and a half before the official check in time as our flight got in early and we got a taxi very quickly at the airport. I went up to the check in desk and explained the situation. The man (i have forgotten his name) was very very helpful. He did say that our room was ready but the cleaning manager hadn't checked our room yet to see if it was up to standard and it might take 10-15 minutes to do this, depending where they were in the hotel. We were given 2 bottles of water and the most AMAZING red velvet cupcake the size of my face (and I have a big face) and he said we could sit and wait or leave our bags in a locked room and come back later. I said because it wasn't going to be that long that we would wait.

Within literally 2 minutes we were given the key to our room on the 25th floor.

EVERY single member of staff that I encountered in the hotel were polite and friendly and they went completely out of their way to make sure that your needs were seen to. I had pre-booked flowers to be in the room for when we arrived as it was over Valentines day and it was my girlfriends first time in NYC and they were there when we arrived. I didnt even have to ring or email the hotel to remind them.

The bed was unbelieveably comfortable and made up every day. The aircon was a god-send when we came in in the evenings to thaw out after a days shopping.

5 minutes from Times Square and right across the street from the Port Authority Bus Station. Close enough to be near everything but still far enough away to be slightly out of the hustle and bustle.

People have mentioned that there are "dirty book stores" and the fact that the Probation office is there and it made them feel unsafe. Not once did I feel unsafe even though they were there. Even my girlfriend said she would have felt comfortable enough to walk around on her own with no problems.

Would definitely stay in this hotel again without a second thought

Room Tip: Book or ask for a "City View" room.....you will not be disappointed

Stayed here in August for 3 nights while on business. Very good service, clean and functional room if a bit small. The lobby is tiny as well. Great air conditioner that drowned out any potential noise, and the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on during a business trip.

We weren't sure what to expect of a Four Points in Midtown, but we were pleasantly surprised by several aspects of the hotel. It, of course, was well situated in the middle of the action, but the room was really quite comfortable by Manhattan standards. The most pleasant surprise, though, was the friendly and helpful demeanor of every staff member we met. No stereotypical New York attitude here.

When we next visit New York, I would be happy to stay at the Four Points Midtown again.

This hotel is a winner. The room is small, but that is to be expected in nyc. However, the room is very clean and the bed is very comfortable. The staff is awesome! Very helpful and kind. Complimentary water, free food and drinks from 5-7 and the food is good! Close to many major attractions and only one subway stop away from Central Park. Loved coming home to this hotel after a long day of walking a sightseeing!

This hotel seems pretty small from the outside and the lobby. They have large atrium style setup that's nice and airy. The rooms were clean, furniture maintained. Room service order delivered really fast, correct, and good quality. Rooms on the small side but still doable comfortably.

All staff encountered were pleasant, helpful, knowledgable. One of the lower priced properties in the area but don't pay too much without checking other places at the same price point that may appeal to you personally. Otherwise it's a clean solid choice which is possible to get a great room rate for in a brand chain midtown hotel. Book early for those deals.

Our experience staying at this property for three nights was great and we would stay here again on future visits to NYC. Our room was quiet on the 19th floor with a decent view of the Times Square area. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the room was very clean. Our check-in experience was top notch. I wish I remembered the young man's name who checked us in - he was exceptionally friendly and met our room requests without hesitation. During the latter part of our trip we stayed in a hotel between 44th and 45th (up a few blocks and more central to Times Square) and when we compared our experiences, we agreed that we preferred the less congested area of this Four Points property. By all local accounts, the Hells Kitchen area (near this hotel) has some of the best restaurants patronized by locals. I would recommend '44 1/2' which is an easy walk from the property. For craft beers lovers, I would recommend visiting the 'Beer Authority' which is a half block from this hotel. (They have some hard to find Goose Island beers!) Lastly, I would highly recommend you sign up for the "Dozen Apples" Real New York City Tour on your first day in NYC. You can thank me later for that tip =)
