“Quite a gem near Chelsea”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

The Eventi is our third Kimpton hotel we stayed in. This hotel group got the hospitality down to a T. We were happy with all of them. The Eventi is in an uninteresting location. Basically, the immediate few blocks around are boring. However, many things one might considered crucial for NY visits, such as the theater district, Times Square, and Empire State building are close enough within 15-20 min walk or less. Like other Kimpton hotels, there is a daily wine hour. We were lucky to hit a special Tiki Bar theme on Friday. It was outdoor on the fifth floor terrace on a mild summer evening. Staff dressed up as life guards. Great fun. Oddly enough, one night the hotel bar was closed, presumably for a private event. The staff are superb especially the very friendly front desk staff and the services are top notch but not in your face overstuff type. Our room was a corner king and a bit smallish (275 square feet) but very modern with sleek but stylish decor. Both the room and all the public spaces are monochromatic, leaning toward the minimalist style but tasteful. Bathroom is awesome. The shower is extremely spacious and provides two options for the shower heads. No bathtub. Particularly worth nothing, the floor to ceiling windows in both the room and the hallway offers spectacular view. We got a corner room on 22nd floor (2201) with amazing view of the city. We were able to see the view looking to the east side and also looking north to the top of the Empire state building.

The Eventi is a lovely little hotel in midtown. It is an easy walk to Penn Station, Herald Square and the Empire State Building. If you are coming from the Newark Airport by train is is extremely convenient. Outside of the hurley gurley bustle of the theatre district, it is still fairly close to Broadway. The rooms are clean and well appointed with large bathrooms with two shower heads. The staff, like all other Kimpton hotels where I've stayed, were competent, friendly and attentive--the bell staff and doormen were particularly friendly and helpful. A particular treat is the artisan food fair the hotel has on Thursday evenings. Finally, don't miss the free ginger lemonade in the lobby!

This hotel really outdid itself. It was clean, the corner room with a king we had was spacious and it was modern. Everything in the room functioned well, no complaints that we can think of. The hotel was also in a great location on 6th avenue but with this came the added noise from the road below us (even though we were on the 15th floor!) If you're a light sleeper this may not be the hotel for you. Otherwise I'd highly recommend it.

First time guest at this or any other Kimpton Hotel. Eventi is in a interesting and upcoming location on 30th, surrounded by Koreatown. Apprehensive at first about the neighborhood dissolved quickly. Easy walk to the theatre, this location keeps out of the hustle, bustle and tourist hassle of Broadway, but close enough if you want that too. So many wonderful places to eat and drink close to the hotel in K-Town. Shiny and new amenities made our stay seem polished and up-class. Friendly front staff, helpful doormen, and kind greetings every time we walked in the door made this a excellence experience. Stayed high up away from the street noise and views at the Empire State at night was a great backdrop for comfy sleep. The bathroom and shower was huge in the King Room. Eco friendly too. Will return if rates remain reasonable.

Room Tip: Higher floors facing 6th give views to cool roof-top gardens and Empire State Building.

Green Features: Appreciated the movement senors for AC and linen policies.

The hotel and room were very clean (carpet in my room had been shampoo'd before arriving). Very kind and helpful staff during the rest of my stay, but not when I first checked in. The concierge was rude and no bellboy came to help with my bags. Amazing Manhattan location and gorgeous room with good rates (for downtown NY). Highly recommended. Was there for a wedding which was taking place in the hotel, a bellboy offered to last-minute steam the Groom's shirt, thank you again for that! Will def be returning in the future. Loved the free ginger lemonade!

We just returned from a week of play in NYC where we stayed at this fantastic hotel.; Brenda and Juan, at the front desk, were always available with welcoming smiles & great service. Our room, on the 19th floor, had fabulous views of the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building and the City in general. We enjoyed the complimentary 5PM wine hour, especially the fresh blueberries, strawberries and blackberries along with more gracious service from other staff members. Our room was spotless....and nicely decorated (although lighting at night cld have been better.) We were surprised and delighted to find such warmth & ambience, in the heart of a big city.

Room Tip: Higher floors have the better views.

We stayed 3 night in this hotel during our tip to the USA. We carefully choose this hotel through tripadvisor. Because of our length we needed Queensize beds. And this hotel came out best on our list of possibilities. And we are very satisfied with our choice.
We asked for a room on a high level and got it. Reception was very friendly and because we mentioned the secret word (from Facebook) we recieved a bottle of champagne in a cooler the first evening.
Room was very clean, comfy beds. And the rainshower was fabulous. After a long day of walking in a warm city, this good shower was very welcome.
We also enjoyed the free wine hour, with good wines, sangria, water, cheeses, fruit.
Location in the city was very good. We could walk to a lot of points of interest, or take the subway only a few blocks away. It was also in walking distance from Penn-station.
The only downside was the wake-up call the first night at 3 am, we didn't ask for. Probably a joke from who slept in the room the night before us. The hotel should have cleared this on their check-out.
