“Surprisingly good service in a hip new hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

We stayed at The Eventi for a friend's wedding. The city was packed with people attending Fashion Week and The US Open as well as all the usual NY craziness. The staff at The Eventi handled it all with equanimity and grace. They couldn't have been more professional and accomodating. The hotel itself is new, clean and hip. It's in a great location convenient to Madison Square Garden, lots of great restaurants and the fashion district (my wife added that part.) I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the Empire State Building.

We chose the Eventi Hotel because it was right in the middle of Manhattan. We planned to walk everywhere and if that got too tiring there was Penn Station a few blocks away and another subway station just a few blocks east. This hotel, we felt, was the perfect location to explore uptown, downtown and everything in between. The staff were fantastic! Not pretentious at all and there to have a laugh and share their insights. From the minute you walked in the door you were made to feel so welcome. We were really worried about how small the hotel room would be given all of the reviews that we read for multiple hotels. We did not find it an issue at all and were pleasantly surprised with the large bathroom. We opted for a room on one of the upper floors, so noise was not an issue and it was nice to have a window that opened and fresh air coming through. This was our first time at a Kimpton hotel and were very pleased!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on one of the higher floors

We stayed a week at the Eventi last November for travel and my cousin's wedding. Our beautiful corner room could see the Empire State building and was very clean. Bed and bathroom were lovely. Gym was good with water and apples for you to snack on and rehydrate. Staff were really helpful and location was so convenient - couple of blocks away from theatres, literally just next to Little Korea, super close to subway and Macy's! And loved the wine hour~ Definitely one of our best hotel experience, and we're there while it was Halloween - so all staff dressed very funky and cute! We would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a good hotel in NYC.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, definitely get the corner room that can see the Empire State building. It'...

Stayed for a week in the Eventi Hotel on a first trip to NYC in a Cityview King on the 22nd floor. Wanted to stay somewhere special and conveniently located, and this hotel did not disappoint. The hotel is near subway stations and about 15 minutes walk to Times Square - close enough to be a convenient walk but without the crazy crowds that would definitely put me off from staying in Times Square itself. Staff at the hotel were awesome - two minor issues with the room on check-in (bathroom and the iPod dock) were fixed speedily and the cleaning staff were great. My only quibble would be the gym facility which was a little on the small side as far as the weights stations go, but I guess this is NYC after all and space is at a premium...

We stayed for 3 nights at the Eventi in August. We had a one-bedroom suite and it was a beautiful suite. It was very clean and no sight of bugs. Bed was comfortable. Love the hardwood flooring. Staff were friendly and courteous. The location is very convenient, for going uptown, downtown and even across the river to Jersey City, NJ via PATH.

We just returned from the Eventi Hotel in New York City, and will definitely return to this hotel. We have come to expect excellence from Kimpton hotels, and the Eventi exceeded our expectations. Our room was beautiful...sleek, modern, immaculate....and had a view overlooking not only the Manhattan skyline, but a huge outdoor tv screen (probably one or two stories tall) that is situated in an outdoor patio area adjoining the hotel. Great for watching the U.S. Open! Our room was also extremely quiet (my husband travels a lot and noted that this was one of the quietest rooms he had ever stayed in...and in NYC no less!), and the beds and linens were superb. The staff was extremely friendly and outgoing, and had great attitudes--they seemed to genuinely enjoy engaging in conversation, and gave helpful tips on where to grab a quick bite to eat upon our arrival (try the burger place right next door). The location on 30th and 6th was also so convenient. It was a block or so from Penn station, and we were able to easily roll our luggage to the hotel, instead of waiting in the long cab line. And 2 blocks away was the subway station...perfect! Oh, and thank you to the staff for providing champagne and chocolates for our wedding anniversary (I alerted them to our anniversary before our trip:)...and also for the awesome wine social hour on the 2nd floor patio dining area....and the list goes on! If you are considering a trip to NYC, do not hesitate to book the Eventi. Cross "hotel" off your to-do list and enjoy planning the rest of your trip. You will not regret it!

Room Tip: We requested a room away from the main street noise, and stayed on the 9th floor, with a view of the...

We stayed at the Eventi hotel this past June on our second trip to NYC. I wanted to book a more upscale hotel to celebrate a special milestone in our lives, and after careful research online I chose the Eventi (I booked four nights, and a special couples package that was advertised). We arrived pretty late in the night, after a delayed flight into JFK and were ready to relax. Upon check in, I confirmed my package and was pleasantly surprised to hear we were upgraded to a larger room. The woman who checked us in was very nice, but didn't inform us about the hotel in any way. She just gave us our keys, and directed us towards the elevators. Once in the room I was disappointed to see the champagne (that was included in the package, and to be there upon arrival) was not there. I called down, and they sent up the champagne and a fruit plate. The room was everything as promised; modern, clean, welcoming, spacious, and luxe. The bathroom was fantastic, equipped with a combination whirlpool tub and shower. The next morning we received a call asking if we would like to place our breakfast order (included in the package is breakfast in bed) I asked if we could order in tomorrow instead, and they said no problem. The next morning I called to place our order, and the clerk at the front desk informed me that there was no "note" on my account regarding a breakfast package. She then put me on hold for about five minutes until she could find the information. Breakfast came up rather quickly, and was decent. The very small issues we encountered on our trip are by no means a deal breaker. I just felt like at the pricey rate per night, you should experience a flawless stay. My only suggestion would be to ensure what's booked is correctly provided, and perhaps review that front desk staff informs all guest equally of the hotels amenities and programs upon check in. All in all, this hotel delivers on everything it promises you. We enjoyed our stay very much, and would come back again.
