“Great food, great service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013 via mobile

We had the Sunday brunch menu. Well worth the $45 per person. The pasta with duck ragu and the sliced NY strip steak was a great combination, a filling too. Mark was a great waiter. Try and sit by the Central Park South windows. A perfect start to a Sunday.

“Still Michael's best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

Marea is a great New York restaurant. The food is well worth the 2 Michelin stars. You have the best of two worlds, sushi like crude and perfect Italian. I really enjoyed the steak washed down with an 88 tignanello. Mmm .... Service is attentive but not overbearing. Enjoy!

“Classy, elegant dining”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

We attended a corporate dinner in the private dining room at Marea. I had the sea bass, which was good but nothing spectacular. Unfortunately, since we dined with a large group, we couldn't choose from the entire menu. Gorgeous interior. Good service. Great wine.

“A pleasant evening”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

I had a lovely evening with my husband and three adult children at Marea in New York. The food was creatively presented and tasted lovely. The head waiter and wine expert were very good and helpful. My one small negative would be in a fine restaurant the staff should be trained serve left clear right on a round table if possible. They did not and I did not know what side they were going to come at me from. I would go back which is always my standard. The setting on Central Park is fabulous.

“Fine Dining, Relaxing Atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Food and service are excellent, but the warm, relaxing atmosphere helps to positively distinguish Marea from NYC's many upscale restaurants. Tables are amply spaced and the service is unhurried. On an evening with the venue full, the pace for dinner (set by unobtrusively attentive servers) was nearly two hours and quite enjoyable.
Marea encourages a more than filling multi-course prix fixe menu containing numerous selections, but separate servings are readily available.
The wine list is extensive, with several pleasing by-the-glass offerings at rather modest pricing.
Cost is on the high side, but very consistent with the overall experience provided.
