“Fun Day- For the entire family!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

We purchased year membership $175.00 for the 4 of us (2 adults & 2 children 11&14)

Had a great time- we toured the ship and really enjoyed seeing the top deck which features jets and helicopters.

The space exhibition center was great! We got to watch short movies on space travel. We read about all the shuttles and we were able to see the Space Shuttle Enterprise- we learned a ton! See picture-

The highlight however was the Concorde tour- it was worth it! We got to sit in the plane, and in the cockpit. We also heard about fantastic trips. Don't miss this!
See picture-

We only had 4 hours and we used every second of it- a great time for all!

“Great place to visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

On a recent trip to NYC we decided that The Intrepid was something we both wanted to go and see as we are both interested in aviation. It was a great morning and the highlight for us was definitely getting to see Concorde again. A great day out for al the family.

“Rainy Day Visit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

We had a short time in NYC and the day for our planned visit to the Intrepid just happened to be rainy. At first we were told not to go cause it's an outdoor museum but we said let's just go for it, since it's summer and a little rain never hurt anyone.

We are a family of 2 young boys (3 and 9 years old). Luckily for us, I'd say 75% of the actual museum is indoors, which was great.

There is so much to see and do in the museum and it's such a boyish place as well. As far as museum go.

One thing that is difficult to do with boys that age is to join up any tours, they are very informative, but boring and keeping kids interested was impossible. So it was kind of a self guided trek for us.

The upstairs, the outdoors, was where all the cool jets are. The downside, you can't enter any of them. So it was a big tease for my boys. But it was forgotten as we got to the captain's quarters and navigational tower.

You can see more photos and ideas about the tour on my blog.

The whole tour took us around 1.5 hours. I'm glad we did it, however, I probably would've skipped it for other more younger kid friendly places.

“Surprisingly interesting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

It was selected as a multi-generational tourist destination rather than shopping.
It was more interesting than I thought it would be.
The scale is enormous and you have a sense of sacrifice of others.
The restaurant was very good quick serve food.
To visit on board the submarine there was a long wait.

Great picnic location: end of pier under the belly of the Concord.
