“Great service in a cozy hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

The staff here was what made our stay. We were welcomed warmly every time we arrived be either Tom or Patrick. Our room was on the 2nd floor so if you are used to sleeping in quiet this could have been an issue. I slept well, my husband did not. Also our room while very clean & comfortable had a few issues. The shower drain was very slow so we wound up standing in water as we showered, the room phone did not work when we arrived & I had trouble getting wifi on my Mac in our room. The location was great & we were able to overlook the small issues & would stay here again....on a higher floor. Also you definitely need reservations if your going to eat at the restaurant in the hotel.

Room Tip: you can here the activity on the streets on the lower floors

I was recently in NY for a family function and stayed at The Smyth. It was my first time and I was blown away. We were greeted by the "bellman" who had our bags out the the taxi before we even payed the driver and they escorted us to our room...with many suggestons/helpful tips about our stay. The front desk staff was wonderful and made us feel very welcome. The room was a decent size, had the largest TV I've ever had in a hotel room and was very quiet as we had an inside room and didn't overlook the street. The bed was comfy (although, the pillows could probably use an update....they had a little bit of an "old" smell). The room had a great honor bar with a pretty decent selection too!

The hotel has a great lobby/lounge with working fireplaces and a nice cozy bar to get a cocktail. Many people sitting with their laptops or just having coffee in the morning. ust a really pleasant relaxing atmosphere. We did not order anything to eat but I believe they offer 24 hour room service and were also getting ready to open their sidewalk patio so that will be nice once the weather cooperates.

All in all a great hotel in a great location (right in the heart of Tribecca and a short walk to the new World Trade Center, shopping and many amazing restaurants). I highly recommend!!

Big "shout out" to the hotel SMYTH. What a great little sanctuary in Tribeca. Staff awesome, from Patrick and Sandy who meet you at the hotel to the desk agents, professional and courteous all around.
If you are looking for a place in Tribeca, stop by and stay awhile at the Smyth.
Thanks All….

Scott

Wonderful brief stay for a friends movie premiere at the film festival. Quick walk to the venue and great location for an warm afternoon stroll north to SoHo. Lunch at Little Park was delicious and Patrick and Tom the bellmen were ever present to assist. Bar area warm and cozy and the room was well appointed with a very comfortable bed!

Room Tip: try asking for off street room

Lovely staff, excellent service and a great room with a comfy bed. The restaurant downstairs Little Park, had a unique menu. We had brunch and we loved our choices, the baked eggs with lamb chorizo ragu was delicious and even more so when I dipped the whole grain toast in it as the very attentive server recommended. The herb & goat cheese omelette was delicious too.

Price was good, great area and a complimentary house car service.

The best part of our too-brief stay at the Smyth was the staff: all courteous, competent and attentive, from concierge to housekeeping, with special recognition to bellmen Tom and Patrick, who were always helpful and personable. The cleanlinesss and brightness of the room were also notable.

The staff at the Smyth made our stay. We are so grateful to everyone, including Patrick and Tom the Bellmen for being warm, welcoming and accommodating at all times during our stay. The hotel recently went through some renovations which were evident in the details of the modern rooms and extremely comfy beds. Thank you for contributing to a great weekend in NYC!
