“Happy Accident”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013

While jaunting down 56th street on the way to 5th avenue, we stumbled across Uncle Jacks. My hubby immediately recognized the name from the TV show, and we decided to dine there. A well appointed menu for lunch, I had the tacos 3 ways - one chicken, one beef and ons shrimp. But I do not eact poultry and the waiter said it would be no problem to sub a duplicate of one of the others. Hubby has a Kobe beef burger which was properly cooked (medium) and well flavored. The service was good, though our pecan pie, which was advertised as heated came out cold, and was sent back, the server said it would be taken off the bill, but by the time the bill came, server captains had changed and it was not. Also, it was small for the price, though the flavor was good, and the quality of the ice cream was above average.

“Best bread basket in the city.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

Uncle Jacks has the best bread basket in the city; my husband loved the sesame roll that I did not get to taste, but the onion roll, and the sweeter rolls with raisins are so very delicious as are the crackers in the basket. This time we did not have steaks as we wanted a light meal. My husband loved the lamb lollipop appetizer as his meal, we shared a delicious wedge salad, and I had the crab cake appetizer as my entrée with pecan pie for dessert. I was disappointed that neither the crab cakes, nor pie were as good I remembered them to be so I don't know if they are made different from more than a year ago when I had them, or what; they were ok, but not so good that I would want to order them again. Good choice of wine by the glass.

“Very nice experience!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

Went on a Tuesday and the place was only 1/3 full. Got the Flintstone cut for two. Steak was perfectly cooked and the service was fantastic. Would certainly go back!

“Uncle Jacks Steakhouse: Good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

A good steak in the theatre district in NYC. Started with crab cakes and had a NY sirloin. Very tasty. My wife had chicken, pretty good. With one drink each no dessert was $180 tip in. Felt a bit rushed by the staff but very good service. A bit expensive but its NY. Not the best steakhouse I've ever been to but with no wait was a good dinner.

“Great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2013

The food was really good. We went for lunch. It is a little expensive, but you are in Manhattan. The drinks are really expensive, but good. The atmosphere is nice, a little dark. The waiter was very helpful and everyone in the place was friendly. I don't think I would return, there was nothing special about it.
