As my title may indicate, it was the overall experience we had here this past Wed. which I based my stars on. The food was average to good. My husband and I went with our two kids after an early midweek Christmas Spectacular showing. We tried Bill's Bar and Burger first but they were packed. Lucky us bc we got to try Johnny's instead. As we walked down the steep wooden stairs I asked my husband if he thought they allowed kids. The place, although country themed, has an adult Saloon basement feel. The manager immediately said that they had many Christmas parties so service was slower than usual. No matter to us at this point so we sat. We ordered drinks, which were served immediately, and an appetizer, which arrived shortly. We got Spinach and Artichoke Dip, which was ok - filled us up a bit while waiting for our main courses. Our waitress refilled the tortillas for us to munch on, at our request. My daughter pressured my husband to ride the bull, which he eventually did. It was a good laugh and I could imagine this being a great late night spot. Eventually our sliders for the kids and my husband's and my "Wyatt Earp" burgers came. We both agreed they were pretty good, with fresh Swiss cheese, baby Bella mushrooms and a fresh Brioche bun. Could have done without the spinach though. The bill came to 60 even w a twenty percent discount (received when we showed our same day ticket to Radio City). It is NYC, though. I would def go there again with a big group for a late night, sans kids.
