“Better Than Expected!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

We chose City Lobster because it was convenient to the theater we were headed for. Reviews here and elsewhere suggested City Lobster was a tourist trap mediocrity, but I didn't care -- the location was right and I could get a reservation. Well, this is NOT a mediocre restaurant, even if tourists do eat there, and we were pleasantly surprised. They offered about a half-dozen interesting brews on tap. We had fresh, briny oysters, a bargain special that day at $.99 each; delicious, cold wedge salad; nicely prepared crab cakes with big chunks of crab; tasty, juicy broiled fish, and freshly brewed coffee. And decent service. And not break-the-bank. Many people around us were enjoying lobsters, which seemed fairly priced to me, as well as decadent, yummy-looking lobster mashed potatoes. We'll be back.

“Don't Miss City Lobster in NYC!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012

We had--of course--the lobster dinner! We were fortunate enought to go there during "Restaurant Week" so the dinner was prix fixe and a great deal! The service was wonderful and so was the food!

“Nothing special ...”

Just Ok! Expect service with an attitude! I suspect restaurant self esteem issues, which sadly are well founded! ;-)

“Oysters and other delicacies”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2012

Great atmosphere and service for your afternoon refresher after a day of shopping, touring the Big Apple or after a midday business meeting. We enjoyed the happy hour appetizers and salt oysters after a day of business in the sweltering heat of Manhattan (Hawaii was cooler according to the weather channel) The drinks (bloody mary martinis included) hit the spot and the atmosphere in the midtown area reminded us of a bygone era. If you desire a pick me up and good seafood (dinner is also great) during "happy hour"; this is a great location. Hope to be back next month!!

“EXCELLENT MEAL”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

This week is Restaurant Week in NYC and we had a wonderful dinner for $35.00. I had the
crispy calamari followed by the lump crab cakes. Dessert was included and I had Key Lime pie.
Of note, the bathrooms are on the restaurant level and there are no stairs involved. Only one block from Radio City!
