The outdoor Reading Room has picture books and summertime story times. In winter. Take a spin on the free ice-skating rink. The park also has clean bathrooms, a rarity in midtown.

“Need to relax or try something different”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2013

Whether you're site seeing or need to rest your feet, come here. Great place to wander around or catch your breath after a day of walking around NYC. At Christmas time, it's a must see. Great view of the Empire State Building lit up in green, red and white for the holiday. Also have about 100 vendors set up with food, arts and crafts, jewelry etc. Some fabulous shopping and unique gifts Easy walk from the Port Authority bus terminal. Continue east on 42nd Street to Grand Central Terminal for another NY site.

“A lot of things to take in....a perfect place to unwind.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2013

For a tourist, this is good to check out. Especially in the summer as they have so many activities - they have a carousel for kids, the table games abound in the park and at night they have a free public movie screening plus we were able to catch a food fair going on. Not bad! A sample of everything the city can offer!

“Christmas wonderland”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2013

At Christmas time this place is magical. There is an ice skating rink in the middle and a beautiful Christmas tree at one end. There is shopping all around for all kinds of great hand made goodies and of course places to buy hot cocoa and hot tea to warm up. A must see for the holiday season!

“Christmas market”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2013 via mobile

Visited Bryant Park's Christmas market. Great selection of crafts, memorabilia, foods and drink - this is as close as you can get to a German kindlemarkt. They have a big skating rink but be aware it could be crowded, like today on Christmas Eve.

“Great stopping point on a stroll down 5th avenue”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2013

If you are walking down 5th avenue, this is a nice stop that you can make. It is a beautiful park in the heart of NYC right behind the New York Public Library.

Now during Christmas season is a great time to stop by this park as the Winter Village has been set up and there are many shops set up in the park as well as a skating rink. Obviously if you come during the popular times such as a weekend you will have to wait on line to ice skating, but I think that the wait times are much better than the rink at Rockefeller center.
