“Christmas in NYC ... It Doesn't Get Any Better”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2012

The West 57th street by hilton Club is a true hidden gem in NYC. Located on 57th between 6th and 7th Avenues, it provides the perfect location for those visiting during the Christmas season. Just blocks from FAO Schwartz, St. Patrick's Cathedral, all of the major department stores, and the lights and sounds of 5th Avenue, this luxurious hotel is everything you could possibly ask for when visiting NYC.

I stayed here in Jan for 6 nights on vacation with my boyfriend. The hotel was great. The service was very good aside from a few niggles -
-I requested a room as far away from the elevators as possible, when we arrived the room was right beside them and REALLY loud and it took 40mins to move us. After a long haul flight that is the last thing you need!
-There are not enough elevators. It sometimes took 15mins to get to our room on the 32nd floor.
-The bar area is far too small and was always full which is a shame because they did a great cocktail the one time I got a seat in there.
-Despite advertising new Wi-Fi there was not and despite asking about it twice we were not informed until check out that the wi-fi was down for upgrade.
-The reception area was always too busy. Its too large and with marble floors the sound bounces.
-The concierge recommended us to go to Bobby Vans steakhouse. I got seriously ill from the food there so be careful whos advice you get.

All that aside, it was clean, heat controled, not noisy, friendly room service staff and cleaners, not too expensive, is in the best location for most things and I would return and reccomend it to others.

We really enjoyed our stay. We are not owners at this property, but own at another Hilton and used our points to stay. This is a great location. Very close to subway stops, walking distance to Central park and many other attractions. We stayed in studio and compared to other NYC hotels, room was larger than most. We stayed on 19th floor and heard no street noise. Staff was very friendly. There is not a restaurant in building, but a drug store is next store and made many late night runs to a pizza place around the corner. I would recommend staying here we really enjoyed our visit.

First let me start off by saying we were staying at the Hilton Club as part of a promotion to view Hilton Club property. We made our reservations 5 months in advance, yet when we arrived we were told there were only two room to choose from--all on the side with the construction--and this was at 3pm--our check-in time and luckily we had the paperwork to prove it because check-in had changed to 4pm after we made reservations. At the advice of the reservation clerk, we took the one on the higher floor--less noise (what a joke) and a view of the garden--well, the garden was full of construction material so that didn't matter. The construction noise started promptly at 7am and ended at 6pm and it was loud--so much for sleeping in on my 60th birthday. Door men were the best part of this experience.

Room Tip: Don't choose this property, but if you do, make sure you're away from the construction. Als...

We stayed for a week in February and although the weather was awful, we had a great time. Its a fantastic location, right down the street from Carnegie Hall and the Russian Tea Room and Central Park
The bellmen were always ready with umbrellas. and directions. Concierge was helpful with booking show tickets.
The room was very contemporary and although we were only on the 5th floor the street noise didn't seem bad at all.
The bed was very comfortable and the see through shower was interesting.
It is not really a hotel, has no restaurants or other services, it is more a residence but it worked well for us, there are so many restaurants in New York, who would want to eat in the hotel anyway

Upscale decor, marble work area (mold in shower caulk and drain), no fridge in my room, and no one mentioned any breakfast, bed firm enough for two nights. Lots of drawers. Easy walk to park, shows, shopping. Arrived at 10am, no problem to go to room. (If unavailable they will hold your bags while you shop). Everyone was friendly and efficient. Paid $350/night after Christmas. 16th floor, noise did not bother me. Was fine for one stay, would try something else next time.

Pricey nice hotel for a different experience. It's more
It's worth the price if you have a big room (not the smaller studios) for its stunning views, if you ask for them. Just a 2 minutes walk from Central Park. Location is just perfect.
