5 star is really stretching it. Spacious corner king room was nice, but carpet was worn. Staff was friendly. Restaurant choices were lacking. No late nite option for food other than room service. Good location but would not look to stay here again

I recently spent 3 nights at the New York Palace Hotel during a business trip to New York. I had not stayed at this hotel for many years and was looking forward to my return. The reasons for choosing this particular hotel were the location and what I remember were sizable rooms. I was not disappointed. The room was spacious and I had a lovely view of St Patrick's Cathedral. The room decor was tastefully done and the bed was extremely comfortable. I was somewhat disappointed by the level of service especially with respect to in-room dining. There seems to be some challenges in the evening. For example, a request for tea one evening took two tries to get it right. Reception on Sunday afternoon was a bit surly. But overall, the stay was pleasant.

Lovely hotel, very well located. Molton Brown toiletries stocked up every day. We asked for a room with a nice view as it was our wedding anniversary and wanted a good view. We came back to our room after the first day to discover complimentary champagne and chocolates. Very nice touch. Concierge really helpful but the reception staff less so. Would recommend this hotel without any hesitation.

I am a regular visitor to NY and always stay at the New York Palace. Great location and rooms are nice and large. Inspite of no regular restaurants the hotel is good.

However the Internet sucks. The speeds are low and it keeps dropping. Getting additional devices on the WiFi is difficult. That when you pay a princely sum for the WiFi. Ha d to go to Waldorf lobby to do urgent work. Have complained to the management several time but they have not done any thing. They took off the charge of the internet but that does not help a business traveller. Hope they fix this

This place is perfect. Great location, GREAT staff, great amenities! Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We stayed in the Towers and had complimentary champagne every night in the lobby. Seriously. I highly recommend it!!

When in New York this is possibly one of the best hotels to stay in. Ideally situated between the hustle of Time Square and the picturesque Central Park and a few blocks to 5th Avenue.

We arrived well before check in and our room was ready for us straight away. I stayed with 3 other girl friends in a 2 x double bed room on the 16th Floor, which were quite small but nothing to complain about and considering there was 4 of us in one room at no point did we feel cramped.

WiFi is free in the Lobby however, if you want it in the room you will need to pay something like $18 per day that will be charged to your room. Concierge were very helpful and had very good knowledge of the area and the best places to eat as well as good deals on tourist stuff to do.

Unfortunately we didn't spend too much time in the hotel itself so do not know anything about the Spa and Gym, but I would recommend this hotel if anyone asked.

You might be surprised at how inexpensive the Palace be on some off peak days. In February, we stayed in a beautiful room on the 36th floor for about $225 per night -- almost unheard of in this city of often over-priced hotel rooms. I'm already looking forward to going back -- that's a high complement for someone who prefers an island in the PNW of about the same size with 1/100 the number of people.

Room Tip: Take a high room looking to the east. The view is just as good.
