Stayed for seven nights 2rd February until the 10th with my partner. The hotel is going through some renovation work at the moment so is not up to the standard you would expect from a five start hotel.
I had been inundated with emails from the hotel telling me what luxury I should expect. However it failed to live up their imagined standards.
The beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean. That said it was showing signs of shabbiness and wear particularly in the bathroom area.
The prices charged for the in room bar where frankly a joke. I can appreciate the hotel is out to make money but the room prices where excessive and I would go as far as saying they rip the paying customer off with the prices.
The price of the wi-fi was also extortionate and I see no reason why the price of the wi-fi could not be buried in the room price along with some decent pay per view tv channels.
All in all it is a very good hotel , but not as grand as it makes itself out to be.
The location is excellent. If you are from the UK trek down to the 2nd avenue and eat and drink with the Americans, there are some great bars and restaurants there which offer great value for money
Would I recommend it ? Maybe
Would I stay there again ? Maybe not
