I encountered an excellent level of service at this hotel. The staff was exceptionally gracious and seemed to really appreciate my business. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and did their best to minimize disruptions. I barely heard them cleaning in other rooms. The concierges were very accommodating and exceedingly knowledgeable. The hotel is immaculate and the lobby exquisite. The vibe created by the patio behind the GILT bar added a special touch. The rooms were very clean and the bedding was comfortable. The only suggestion is to offer more breathable pillows; the ones provided got a little bit too hot during the night. The shower was divine and the amenities fitting. I heard very little noise from outside. I would definitely choose this hotel again.

I will be honest.. I don't love midtown. I would be much happier at a downtown hotel, Nolita, Soho, etc. But, for specific reasons it was midtown this time and the New York Palace. I am sure at one point this place was special.. and while the lobby and the Gilt Bar are nice the rest of it is pretty tired. Our corner room was larger than many NYC hotel rooms but had wasted space, dated lighting system, decor and even used electronic keys in the door (not even a card?). The bathroom was dated and in design and space not much different than a Holiday Inn. A word of warning, we had terrible construction next door starting very early in the morning, so no sleeping in that is for sure. But, the front desk did remove 50% of our bill for the second night. Again, the Gilt Bar is small and cozy but was pretty dead when we were there. It is fine, but in comparison to a Crosby.. this is just an old hotel past its prime.

Took my mom to NYC for 72nd birthday. Hotel was great and staff very professional and pleasant. Convenient to subway, 5th ave, central park, rocker feller center. We walked to many places and when it was too far, subway was few blocks away. Bed was VERY comfortable!

We will definitely be staying here again. We had a room on the top floor and it was one of the largest rooms I have stayed in (despite NY being notorious to have small rooms). The concierge were amazing and there was no question they couldn't answer and their restaurants/bar recommendations were amazing. The location is great being 5 mins to the rockafella and two blocks from fifth ave. Will definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends and family.
