Like it's sister, Hotel 17, these types of hotels are not for everyone. If you are just interested in a place to store your luggage, wash up and have a bed to rest in, then it is perfect.
There is no lobby to speak of and some rooms are quite small with shared bathrooms. The hotel has an old charm to it though and does not resemble the plain chain establishments that go hand in hand with cheapness. Decently furnished with some style.
The area, although not seemingly anything special, is central enough for getting to some of the more absorbing parts of Manhattan. A good parking garage is located the next block over to the east and the Empire State building is just a few blocks up.
Would really like to give this place a better rating but severely itchy legs can put a crack in anyone's good time and bed bugs do not get a high rating in my book!
