First let me comment on some of the good things. It's a charming restaurant, nice decor, sort of casual upscale vibe to it, the staff are all very friendly and attentive and our dining experience was mostly pleasant.
But make no mistake, this place is definitely on the pricey side, (especially the wine list) and the food is average at best. We went in expecting the food to be excellent and hoping to find a few dishes that wowed us but were disappointed on both fronts. Nothing that we tried was 'bad' per se, it just wasn't anything special that you couldn't make yourself at home or in a average seafood restaurant. Worse still, some of the flavor combinations just did NOT work very well together, there was a real lack of harmony and balance between the ingredients that was baffling considering the reputation of the restaurant.
The staff needs work too. Our primary server was wonderful, friendly and attentive but the busboys drove us insane. After 3 different people interrupt your conversation and try to take away your plates before you've finished eating you begin to get the feeling that they can't wait to get you out the door. We also had a busboy come by between dinner and dessert and spend 60 secs wiping up every last crumb from the table, it was uncomfortable, intrusive and absurd and really helped to cap an overall underwhelming experience.
I'm being generous giving it a 3/5, overall we were quite disappointed by the experience.
