Good room, good food/drinks(special thanks to Rodrigo and chef) and great staff! Special notice for Natasha from the reception, who really knows how to make your stay special! Rooftop bar was really nice to visit, however the girl behind the bar was quite rude. Overall a great stay!

Hotel Indigo Chelsea is a fail from start to finish. There is no consistent door service, valet, or baggage assistance without a 25 minute wait. The hotel has no real foyer, and of the two elevators in the hotel one was broken our entire 4-day stay. The staff, with the exception of one female front desk person and th cleaning staff were neither welcoming nor gracious or helpful. Instead, the male front desk staff acted as though guests were a burden or not cool enough to speak to or engage in eye contact with. Worse still, while waiting for the elevator we heard one male staffer provided a stranger who called the hotel information about the name of a guest staying there, which is not only a violation of privacy but also a security issue. The hotel lobby was small and dingy. The hotel sits on one of the least attractive streets in all of Chelsea, garbage littering the street regularly, nowhere decent to eat, and far from the art or real hip scene common to Chelsea. The rooms had dated decor that was neither the advertised organic nor fresh. The bathroom had mold in the shower and our towels were not replaced during routine room cleaning. The fact that the hotel uses Aveda products and is generally located in Chelsea does not make it good or hip or worth the over $300 price point per night for a mediocre room facing a dingy alley on an even dirtier and sketchy street. There are literally a dozen other nyc hotels in the same general vicinity that are better options for the price of this mediocre restaurant/ bar that fronts as a sad little hotel.

Booked two nights through the hotel's web site for my niece's wedding. The entire party is staying at the hotel. Took the "best rate." My flight got cancelled after a 12 hour delay at the airport, keeping from making it to NY entirely. Called to cancel for the second night, but was told that I had booked on a nonrefundable rate. No refund, no offer of a credit for a later stay. Two lessoned learned. Read the rate restrictions more carefully, and never, ever, stay at the the Hotel Indigo Chelsea, or at any of the Intercontinental Hotels Group properties (Intercontinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Staybridge Suites, or Candelwood Suites).

My company's office is near Madison Square Garden and I always struggle on where to stay. The location of Hotel Indigo was perfect and rooms in the back of the hotel face another building. No view, but it was very quiet. I didn't get a chance to check out the bar or restaurant but they frequently offer packages with free drinks and comp breakfast. Each room has a Keurig coffee machine and Aveda products in the bathrooms. Even though this is a chain hotel, it does have a boutiquey feel, which I prefer to a hotel with zero personality. I will definitely stay here again!
