“Great location, good service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2011

We enjoyed our recent stay at Hotel Indigo (during that freak snow storm!). The staff is friendly and willing to assist tourists by looking up restaurants etc on the iPad on the front desk. The room is big enough and we asked to be placed at the back of the hotel (no street view) to avoid those noises (horns, sirens) from the city that never sleeps. Downside -- no umbrellas for guest use, but those are easily bought on the street corner, and we didn't find the laminate flooring in our room all that clean -- staff could note that in rainy weather, more than vacuuming is required. The restaurant is perfectly fine and we did not go up to the roof top bar as we had so much else to do in the evenings. I would recommend this hotel and would go back, the location is perfect - close to Penn, Times Square, High Line and Broadway.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room, ask for the back of the hotel.

Great location as close to the subway, so makes visiting lots different areas in the city easy. Having visited several hotels in New York this has good sized rooms, is really clean and they are contemporary. The Sky Bar has lovely views over the city and the barman made a mean cocktail.

Only problem we had whilst staying was one of the lifts wasn't working, so we did have to wait sometime for the other lift to visit our floor! lol

and i nearly forgot, it was lovely and quiet at night, how could i forget that :-)

I needed to book 60 rooms (w/ limited budget) for my organization for our conference. I was very pleased with the quality and service at the Indigo right from the start: very friendly & professional.

I lived in NYC for 15 years, so knew the neighborhood: in the heart of the flower district, close to Penn Station, and subway lines: a very unique hotel!

Indigo only has about 120 rooms, but there are plenty of hotels within blocks (Hilton Garden Inn is next door). Rooms are spacious enough, with nice Aveda products, Keurig, and fridge. I only had breakfast one day, and quite good and reasonably priced (for a hotel).

Definitely a hidden gem!

We stayed at Hotel Indigo for 2 nights and had a very enjoyable stay. It must be said that check-in was very chaotic. We first arrived shortly before midday and it took us quite some time to check in as there were lots of other people checking in and out at that time. We were not able to go to our room yet as it was still being serviced. Given the time, this was was of course understandable. However, upon returning at 4:30pm we seemed to have to go through the whole check-in process again, it took a really long time and when we had our key and were waiting for the lift we were then called back to say they had already allocated that room out and needed to give us another one. We then had to wait again. We overheard 2 other people at the check-in desk making complaints. One person making a complaint about an alarm that went off in the evening which was probably not really the hotel's fault, however the other person had only just checked in and came back downstairs saying he was checking out again immediately as nothing had gone right. We did check in on a Sunday and it seemed that they did not have as professional staff on that day as the following morning and on the Tuesday when we checked out the staff seemed very good.

The room was really nice, very modern but welcoming and is certainly the best hotel we have stayed at in New York (this was our third visit to the city). The bathroom in particular was nice and the bed was extremely comfortable.

We had a drink at the rooftop bar and would recommend it, the views are lovely and it is particularly worth making a visit for sunset.

I am surprised that many other reviews have commented on it being such a great location as we didn't really find that to be the case. The immediate area had nothing to recommend it and there are many, many nicer neighbourhoods in New York. However,of course if you are close to a subway station then you can easily get anywhere and it cost only around $5 to get in a cab and go down to Greenwich for dinner or about a 20 minute walk.

All in all though, great value for money and we would certainly recommend it.

This hotel is tiny. Not what i expected, but the service is good, the room is decent and it's located close to where i needed to be. Nothing spectacular. Nice enough for a 4 day business trip. Free wifi which is awesome.

My friend and I stayed at the Indigo for 4 nights and it was AWESOME! We were in town for a friend's wedding so we needed a convenient place to stay and the Indigo was perfect. The staff -- front desk, bellman, restaurant host/bartender, housekeeping -- were all very kind and extremely helpful. The room, by NY standards, was a good size...especially considering we were two girls with BIG luggage and clothes EVERYWHERE. The beds were SO comfortable -- I slept like a baby. Location was great....close to [several] Starbucks, subway, as well as places to eat and/or grab a happy hour drink. I used to work in the hotel biz (front desk management) so I know what I'm talking about -- you guys were FANTASTIC! I'll definitely stay there again.
Thanks!
Andria

Stayed for a long weekend. Great location, easily walk to Times Square and also close to subway stations. The room was very comfortable for the two of us, the front desk and service people were genuinely friendly and, again, great location. Loved the Aveda products and Keurig coffee. Highly recommend as a great base for touring NYC.

Room Tip: 17th floor was great--no noise from street or hallways.
