“Good Outdoor Casual Restaurant”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

Myself and two friends were seeing the NYC sites and found ourself at the South Street Seaport about lunchtime. We did not want a heavy or expensive meal. The location is great and we found the service to be friendly and prompt. We all ordered the fish and chips. While not the absolute best I've ever had... they were certainly tasty enough since we did clean our baskets. A good value and wonderful outdoor atmosphere for the price.

“Great location, good place whan you know what to expect”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012

Whenever we go to NY we have lunch at Seaport Cafe at least once. we love the atmosphere and the food as not as bad as some write here.
OK, this is not a Michelin Star restaurant, but the Burgers, chicken fingers and fried Calamaris are always good. also like the Margeritas.
Food is served either in baskets or on plastic plates and Cocktails come in plastic cups, but for us that's fine.

I think their biggest plus is the location and it's great to sit there and watch people passing by and the Seaport action
Waitresses obviously come from Eastern Europe, were always friendly and we never wated too long.

So if y<ou like to get light snacks in the middle of the South Street Seaport, watching people while ating this is a nice place. Do not expect special high-class food or fancy glasses, then you will like it.

“Food was lousy and the service was the worst ever experienced”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2012 via mobile

I should have walked out. Absolutely terrible. This was the worst dining experience I've ever had- hands down. The food was sub-par quality and taste at best. More importantly though was the terrible service. My family actually walked out after waiting almost 30 minutes for theck check. I should have followed. The tab includes a gratuity of 10 percent regardless of party size and still expects a tip to be entered. Rather than walking out on the bill, I chose to pay for my meal less the gratuity. I won't revisit and suggest you don't either. There are other places to choose.

“Great spot...blah food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2012

So we stumbled across this place while visiting the city last weekend, and it was nice out, so we took a table. Service was slow, and unenthused. Everything was starchy and served on plastic. The atmosphere was great though, being outside near the water, people watching. There are better options. Trust the reviews.
