Stayed for 3 nights, spacious (for NY standards) 7th floor room with direct view to balcony and outside (the window room is by the balcony, so someone there may view inside). The bed was very comfortable. The hotel is small (about 3 rooms per floor), well located, and the staff friendly. My only complaints were the noise coming from the corridor whenever someone was there (it´s a fairly tight corridor and the room door does not provide adequate sound-proof), which happened only seldom, and some of the bathroom towels needed to be better cleaned (stains not completly removed eventually because of defective washing). Altogether minor complaints, compared with the obvious advantages. It was a good staying and I will definetly recommend this hotel as a very good option for New York.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Carvi because it was a very clean and updated. I stayed for 8 days.

The room had a very comfortable bed, appeared to be very new (carpet, paint, and furnishing) and had a excellent a/c and flat screen TV. The portable fridge and coffee maker were a nice touch. The washroom was good, marble and very up to date. The service at this hotel was excellent and the only things I can really complain about is that it lacks a gym and pool and the Wi-Fi is slow.

The hotels location in upper Midtown worked perfectly for my stay. It was walking distance to alot of areas and was also very close to the Subway. If you stay at this hotel visit the Pax Cafe at the corner of the street and the Kirin Indian restaurant across the street, both of them are excellent value and quality eats.

Stayed in the hotel for a week and had a great time. The rooms are in good size, the shower is nice and very clean, the staff is wonderful and very helpfull. It would have been nicer to have more lights in the room - they only have one light and the room is kinda dark.

A small and new hotel. Very clean. The bed, as other people said here, was really comfortable. Shower was also great. Staff was always helpful with us. I also enjoyed the fact that they didn't charge for the crib -- in other hotels I was charged 20 USD each night. Location was perfect. There's no breakfast, just a cafeteria across the street where guests get 10% off. The food there is not great, but the place is open 24/7, which is handy.... Another guest was complaining here about the view. Indeed. The view from our room was awful, but that was not a problem for me.

55th & Lex is a great location...only short walk to 5th Avenue stores and Bloomingdales. We used an Internet booking service and got a better price than what was offered on the hotel's website...under $160/night for a double. Our room was on the fourth floor facing 55th Street and amazingly quiet for central New York City. Slept through the night undisturbed. The Carvi is a small European hotel. Lobby is simple but the hotel staff is courteous, friendly, and helpful. They are a real asset to the hotel. There is a computer in the lobby available for guests to check their flights. Our room was a nice size, not a tight fit. The room was well equipped with hair dryer, iron and board, large flat screen TV, comfortable bed, frig and snacks, bathrobes, bathroom only with shower. Room service is provided by the diner across the street and hotel guests receive a 10% discount on orders in the diner. We had breakfast there and ordered sandwiches to go for our flight home. Everything was fine and reasonably priced.
