“Nice vibe if upstairs. Downstairs not so much”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

Typical themed kinda NYC hip bar. Drinks were good but pricey. Bar staff aloof. But that is part of it I guess. Vibe upstairs was buzzing. Downstairs was dark and not much fun. G if you can sit at the bar on ground level. Bring the Amex.

“Great vibe and food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

I had my birthday dinner here for a party of 8 and it was quite a nice experience! From the outside, you can't tell that the place is even open, but as soon as you walk in you are transported to a beautiful dimly lit sexy restaurant with a really cool vibe. I was expecting a much larger spot (like a Spice Market or a Buddakan) but it was actually quite cozy. The seating though is a bit tight and a few of my guests said that their chairs were super small (I was seated in the booth area).

Our waitress was super nice and made a lot of great suggestions. We each ordered our own appetizer and entree but we of course took bites from each other's plates. The food was surprisingly very tasty! Our favorites were the lobster with fresh noodles (think a lighter version of a lobster alfredo with a super buttery and less cheesy sauce), the mushroom and truffle croquettes (these are a must try if you don't hate mushrooms, MUST TRY), the dumplings (I didnt try these, but I heard that they were delish), bacon fried rice (BIG BIG BACON flavor, if you like bacon, you will enjoy this) and the African Chicken (sweet and spicy curry and super moist meat). Outside of that, we also had the chili prawns (very flavorful), bacon buns (not a fan of the ketchup sauce, but it did need a sauce since it would have been dry without, wish they had some hoisin actually), the octopus salad (a bit overdone, not recommended) and the malasadas (tasty churro/funnelcake/beignet type of item.)

Since it was my birthday and another guest at our table's birthday, the waitress got us each a free drink and put candles on our malasadas for us :) Prices are pretty reasonable and we all had an amazing time from the vibe, service and food. Highly recommended!

“Great little portuguese fusion asain restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012 via mobile

Our first night in new york city our hotel reserved us this little place of portuguese asian fusion food. The atmosphere is quite groovy and looks like they had some fun cocktails to start the night off. We had a selection of different types of dishes all of very good standard and great presentation. Staff are friendly and helpful. Excellent value for money. I definitely recommend this place if you are in the area

“Great recommendation from Tribeca Grand”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

We went on the advice of Tribeca Grand. Brillant food and fantastic cocktails. Stand out dish was the bone marrow with sweet chilli jam - yummo. Would recommend!
