I stayed in the Dutch room for seven nights in May and had the absolute best time. Anne met me at the door and gave me a tour, she is really warm and friendly and made me feel right at home. The dutch room is the smallest (i think, definitely the cheapest) room but for a solo traveller is absolutely fine. Some other reviews said the noise was loud for street facing rooms but I was fine with it it never cost me sleep. The East Village location is perfect. I didnt want to stay in some faceless chain hotel in midtown so this was perfect and I love the East Village such a great feel full of great restaurants (my favourites were Prune and Momofuku Ssam Bar as well as great pizza from Artichoke). I had an evening flight but Anne let me keep a key so that I could still use the hotel as a base after checking out. I am definitely coming back next time im in NYC and cant wait to visit again

Me, my girlfriend and my brother went to NYC for 2 weeks. We saw all the positive reviews on TripAdvisor for Bed & Coffee and we booked 6 months in advance.... and what a great choice! Anne welcomed us when we arrived, showed everything we needed to know and directed us to the beautiful Black& White room.

I read in some comments that the noise in te streets where loud and the bathrooms not up to par. Well The streets can be a bit loud, but never did it wake us up or made it hard to go to sleep. And the bathroom was just perfect. A new bath and shower is placed recently and it was as clean as you wanted it to be.

We did not spend much time in te cosy rooms downstairs or in our semi private tv room on our level because we where gone from morning to midnight, but I imagine you will come to rest in those comfortble rooms after a busy day in the big apple.

I'm already am planning another trip to NYC and I will no doubt stay in the B&B again when Anne will have me!

Jeroen, Femke & Arno Vissers

P.s. try and spend some time in the neighbourhood. It has great restaurants and local shops to keep yourself busy.

We stayed in the observatory room for 5 nights in May and had a brilliant time.(Thank you Anne, Harrison , Mango and Blanquita - great to meet you all) Our room was very clean, looked out onto the street and had soundproof windows. It was nice to have use of a full kitchen and sharing the bathroom was never a problem. There was even a nice little garden to sit and have breakfast in.
It was a fantastic location, only ten minutes from the subway, in a very normal New York area. There were plenty of restaurants and bars nearby to eat in, all reasonably priced. We can recommend Casa Rosa restaurant across the road for good food and Banjo Jims bar one block away for great entertainment and nice cold beer!
Would definately recommend East Village B no B to anyone looking to experience the true New York lifestyle, right down to the doggy park and other local ameneties!!

We will definitely go back and highly recommend it for others! We had the pleasure of working with Harrison. Anne was out of town during our visit. My daughter and I did a quick visit but, loved every minute of it! We stayed in the Zen room and recommend it. It was quiet and the bed was comforable. It was a perfect size for 2 people and could be a tight squeeze for three. We can not explain just how comfortable we felt staying here and the neighborhood. We loved staying in this area because it gave us the feeling like we were one of them. Harrison had recommended a great resteraunt just a few blocks away "7A" Cafe and we loved it! The food was great and the atmosphere was very East Village. It sits right by the park and is great for sitting outside and people watching. We did ALOT of walking but, there is no better way to see the real NY other then to walk it. If you are looking for some place to stay so that you can fit right in and feel like you are a part of the city and not the craziness of Touristy Time Square and Manhatten then this is the place to be. EVERYTHING is just a subway away from there.
We WILL go back and we highly recommend it to all! Thanks Harrison for all the great recommendations! He was great with helping us with directions on how to get around! We used the neighborhood map a bizzilion times....it was a great help with getting out and back. We recommend you stop and sit in Tompkins Square Park. We did all of the tourist stuff but, the East Village just kept pulling us back in. Our favorite part of the entire trip was the neighborhood and all that we saw and did within the East Village. Again, thanks Harrison you were a great help and a great host.

My husband and I took a trip to NY from the Boston area. Starting from the time that we made our booking and all throughout our stay the owner, Anne, was friendly, helpful, and patient with our many questions. She made us feel right at home and was so accommodating!

EVBC even has a dog named, Mango, who was rescued and now serves as the Guesthouse concierge :)

The location is perfect and Anne is happy to provide tips about getting around and finding anything that you might need.

The coffee in the morning, internet access, restaurant guide, and the hip furnishings all contribute to make East Village Bed and Coffee a great choice in NYC lodging.

I can't wait to return and have already told friend and family of this relaxing, fun escape in the middle of New York.
