Stayed here with my sister for 5 nights in November on our first trip to NYC. The first room we were given was on the 3rd floor, tiny and unbearably hot, so I rang reception who told me how to turn the heating off. However, after 30 minutes the radiator was still boiling hot, so we asked to switch rooms and the desk clerk said no problem. The next room was on the 6th floor and faced the street which was incredibly noisy, they should consider putting double glazing in as every morning we were woken up from 4am by the sound of garbage trucks and taxis constantly honking their horns. Much better than the first room though and the temperature was fine. TV was ancient though with extremely fuzzy reception on all channels. Wifi reception was non-existent in the room, we had to go down to the lobby when we wanted to use it. The free breakfast was awful - weak coffee and a few stale croissants; the seating area was a few computer desks covered with table cloths and it was very crowded. We ended up going to captains cafe next door for a hot breakfast most days. However, the room was CLEAN and the bed sheets changed every day if we wanted, which for me is top of the list when it comes to accommodation especially if you're only using it as a place to wash and sleep. Also being from London I was fully aware that unless you pay through the nose you are going to get a pretty basic hotel. It was excellently located, just a couple of blocks from the empire state building and a subway at the end of the road. I hear they are refurbishing next year which should improve things, if they put another lift in and install a proper dining area for breakfast I would come back next time I come to the big apple.

Dear Guest - Thanks for your comments! We apologize for your past experience and will be redoing the hotel with another elevator and an improved breakfast experience.
